OK @CyclistAbi could use some spin. Why does today and Emilia give you confidence that he can compete for the win in Lombardia?

The only spin I could come up with would be arguing that he was doing them for the training and intentionally holding back to keep his powder dry and trick everyone into thinking he is washed and a non-threat. What do you have for us?

Pretty much, plus Rogla was rather good at Worlds RR too.

Pogacar was waiting for so long for Del Toro to do a McNulty and ride to him, so that he could gift him the win. Alas he had to win himself, thus drawing the ire of some fans, who were heard chanting "we trusted your black shorts, we were misled!".

That's exactly how I have planned it. Since Remco and Lipo are also riding Lomabardy, it's a great place to show that you shouldn't count him out yet.

Yawn.

Ugly moto-pace.

Horrible, horrible TV production.

Glad I could fast forward through this (possibly fixed) race, where we were denied to see the real one.

I'm not very conspiratorial by nature but this felt a lot like Leo van Vliet. As ig Pogi is not strong enough to win without help. Utterly ridiculous.

And yeah, why the hell would they keep showing landmarks for minutes until three kilometers to go??

Could be like last year where he got worse as the week went on and ending up deciding not to start Lombardia.
Well, I saw him doing well yesterday, perhaps even better than in Emilia, considering the route is less suited to him. Besides, I don't know where the claim that he didn't pull yesterday comes from. He certainly did less than Pidcock but similar to the rest of the group (except for Del Toro od course). He simply didn't take over initially because, as usual, he didn't get into a particularly good position in the climb and would have to go quite deep to catch up with Tom and that Soudal cyclist.

Another thing that no one noticed was that before that with about 15.6-15.2 km left, it was Primoz himself (with Del Toro on his wheel) who was pulling the entire peloton after a teammate pulled away with Simmons just a few meters ahead of the bunch. He can be seen from the helicopter shot.

What exactly is Primoz Roglic's plan for these races, seems to be just hanging around on wheels looking disinterested and not contributing
Its especially funny since some of his absolute biggest fans are Valverde's biggest detractors and they didn't seem to miss an opportunity to mock him for things like that. Radio silence however when Roglic races like this. Funny!
