Strava is not a power meter.

Just go pin a number on your back and find out where you sit in the speed scheme of things.

Your question on plyos depends on what your objective is.
For riding fast TTs? I can think of several dozen things you'd want to be doing before thinking about plyos. And then I'd think up some more.

Actually my best Strava time for the local 9.8 mile doesn't appear to be too hot. A best time of 29.42 (Average 19.8 mph) The Strava record is 21.12 (Average 27.7 mph).

I understand Strava is not the be all and end of this, my sprints are good with some good 30 second power outputs but my climbing is woeful, due to being at least 10kg over weight. Would this be a huge issue in Time Trials. I would have thought time trialing to be similar to climbing less weight means less weight to power. - I do intend to drop this weight off.

I really appreciate all of your advice, any tips on winter training? - unfortunately its going to get dark here soon, so could be limited to weekend rides.

Thanks again.

“Getting off the bike, I felt like a paralytic, with the impression that I planted needles in my buttocks. I drank gallons of water and beer, without being able to urinate, and for three or four days I couldn't walk,” Merckx told the French paper. “I went too fast…it was in my nature, and nothing could stop me.”

No ... unless you are doing an uphill TT. Stronger riders would ride even bigger than 53

Yeah, if its flat you want a pie plate (53-55, probably even larger, but not for me :p) basically. Also it's good to keep in mind your personal level of perceived endurance relative to the actual numbers. That can help on race day (or at least it does for me).

Aaah... those slippery riders! :p

Actually Alex is pretty much right. There's a CN blip on Colby Pearce lamenting not getting recognized for the Hour record due to UCI rules changes right now. Colby was reputed to max out at 300 watts for continued effort. Smooth pedaling and aero positioning were his best traits. He also didn't use Very Small Cranks....

When I hear/read the word slippery I think... eels! Things that are kinda hard to get a hold on.
