Tubeless Tyres

There's a race coming up which is raced over gravel sections. I have a set of Shimano C24 wheels which I'm going to use. They can run tubeless and I'm keen to use tubeless due to the likelihood of pinch flats on the course. What would you recommend I get?

Depends on how rough those gravel sections are. The Hutchinson Intensives in 700x 25 are the most durable in my experience. I've been through 3 sets of Fusions over the last 4 years as well as the Intensives; I'd choose the latter if it's hardpack gravel or hilly with loose corners. Otherwise, the Stans CX tire, which is a semi-slick would do the trick as long as your bike has the clearance eg a cyclocross bike.
Choices are still rather limited.
For mixed gravel rides with little rough stuff on the N Island, I've mostly been using tubs---27mm Vittoria Pave which fit into my Neil Pryde Alize quite nicely. For all others, I use the cx bike with clinchers.

If I understand your post you are looking for options of tubeless tires. All my wheels are set up tubeless and ridden that way but I have never owned a tubless tire. So if it was me I would use the tire you normally would on a gravel road.

Reckon the op is referring to road tubeless. Has anyone actually succeeded in keeping a non-tubeless road tire on the rim when inflated over 60psi?

I have not.

I do like the Fusion tubeless also.

I know a guy that has succesfully used some wire bead tires onto non tubeless
rims..some others on tubeless ready rims/wheel.

Personally, I think that is dumb. Loose a little bit of air for whatever reason, and there is a good chance that tire is gonna come off the rim. Less chance with a true tubeless tire. Same gig for tubeless tire on a non tubeless rim..

If ya gotta use this 'system', I rec. doing it all, not 1/2 and 1/2.

I have never had a problem and do not know anybody that has. If you have a regular rim and a regular tire why would it be any different just because there is no tube in it? When you put the rubber strip in there make sure you have the right size and it does not cover up the grove your normal clincher would go in.

I have my cycle cross bike and both rode bikes set up that way. For the rode I have one set up with Gatorskin hardshell 28mm in back which has a wire bead and a 25mm in front with out the wire. 75 PSI and 70 PSI. Other bike has 25 MM Michelin Pro 4's 80 / 70 PSI. Never had any problems or flats.
