Right - 45sec of race coverage followed by 5mins of commercials.
If you purchase NBC's Livestream package can you avoid the commercials - even on the replay?

Are there any options for watching pro cycling in the US except for NBC ?
Pay per view?
Streaming over the internet?

Sure. Buy a eurosport subscription for the month. To unblock it, run Chrome, install Hola Better internet. They'll give you a proxy (for free) and bam, no more Phil and Paul.

Th livestream is commercial free when viewed live:) I've never done a replay, guess I could go check right now. If you have the station on your tv package I don't think you have to pay again for the stream. At least I didn't for Paris Roubaix :). Today I was fine with the commercials because really not that much was happening.

EDIT: I just tried it. PPPFFFFTTTT...you have to pay to get le Tour streams and replays. Crap on that I already pay for the station and have a dvr and can watch again at will.

There are no commercials during the LIVE NBC Cycling app.
Also, coverage starts when the feed starts, so there won't be any commentary until - gosh I don't know his name - but he is the commentator in the beginning until Phil/Paul go on, and then again at the end - for all of the podium presentations.

I've used this app for a few years now. Works perfect on days I have to go into work. Granted, I only use it for a handful of flat stages (the rest are weekends and vacation days).

I think it's worth it.

Sherwen as Voigt rides solo through the massive crowds: "How did these people get up here? There are no cars. I don't even see any bikes!!" As the camera pans to show around 50 bikes along the side of the road.

The NBC sports web purchase is well worth it. Stunning HD with full replay and no commercials. And no fear in initiating the replay only for it to give away the winner - something that's really hard to avoid with other "saved" streams.

Thanks to all of you for the feed back on NBC Live. I was particularly interested in the replay situation since even TV coverage started today at 3am PDT which is kinda early for me. I lose focus with the constant, idiotic commercials so it sounds worth it!

And P & P - well, a few gaffs, a few laughs and I only hit the mute button once - for David Millar. The Tour is off to a great start for me! :)

Where'd the one hour nightly summary video go?

Last and this year I bought the NBC Sports web app. Last year they had the nightly one hour long edited video of the day's stage (with Phil and Paul (I'm a fan)). Don't see it this year. Anyone know where to see that?

NBC Sports web app gets you:
1) coverage by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen
2) live and replay vids
3) (last year) one hour edited videos of that day's stage w Phil and Paul
4) HORRIBLE customer service.

Thanks!

I had to skip past that as well. Millar should shut up and leave it be.

If you can put up with Phil and Paul, the app (I have the mobile version) is actually quite good, and a step in the right direction.
