Has anyone tried DishWorld?

It looks like you can get Universal Sports and beIN as part of a $10/month subscription, which seems attractive to a cable-cutter like me, particularly if I can watch it on mt TV through my Roku box.

Just talked to a friend who did the dishworld deal with the good Roku...says it's great!
I might have to go for it as well :)

I saw it discussed on this thread and signed up immediately. I watch it on my computer, tablet or smart phone. I can also watch a race anytime from the beginning...like a dvr. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

Verizon Fios carries the Universal channel now, AND beIN Sports. And beIN Sports is airing the Giro right now, in HD. Same stuff from computer livestreams, but with a sharp picture. And yes, you can subscribe for $10 monthly, and get Universal & beINsports, online in one package (without phil liggett and paul sherwen :D ). Whatever you can't get through those two you can get on Steephill.tv or cyclingfans.com. I know I'm not complaining right now. It couldn't be much better!:D

Distressingly, it looks like beIN Sports won't be showing this weekend's Giro stages live, opting to show them at 4 pm US Eastern time as two hour shows. On my Dish Network satellite service, the schedule/guide doesn't match up with what's shown on beIN USA's website, and actually doesn't show any cycling at all next week, though I believe that to be an error, since it looks like according to beIN's website they'll return to their usual live coverage on Tuesday.

Live coverage of the Tour of Belgium starts on Universal Sports next week as well.

Verizon's schedule also shows no beIN Giro coverage after Fri stage. I hope that changes.

Does anybody know how long beIN's deal with RCS Sport is? UniversalSports used to showcase the Giro as the premier event it is - not something to wedge into the schedule between the REAL action. I'd much rather listen to Schlanger and Gogo than Kirby and Lloyd, too.

I signed up for DishWorld as i got sick of the crappy internet feeds and unreliable VPNs to get to other feeds.

So far it's been great. I'm not getting HD quality really, but better than some feeds, and its far less juttery and full of pauses than when i used steephill or the like.

and the fact that i can watch from the beginning is great. for 10 bucks i gotta say it's one of the better things i've done for my cycling world in some time :)

In looking at Dishworld, I see that the sports channels include beIN and Universal, which I already get via my satellite service. What cycling coverage, if any, do the other English language channels with Sports TV package added offer?

beIN takes forever to update their schedules. as pretty much all of the soccer leagues that beIN shows have ended their seasons, i would assume that the weekend stages will be shown live.

Thanks! The satellite guide doesn't show any coverage at all after Friday, I was going by beIN's website, which shows live "SuperBike" coverage on Saturday morning, I believe.

Unfortunately the satellite guide is now updated to reflect the 4PM-6PM Giro scheduling on Sat & Sun only. But I won't give up until Friday as beIN is notorious for last minute schedule changes.

If it's any comfort the schedule they sent me privately showed Sat 6:50AM-11:30AM and Sun 8:30AM-11:30. However thise two days were also flagged as 'Subject to Change'.

Worse comes to worse I'll be watching a crappy stream and cursing beIN.

Plus I definitely agree; give me GoGo and Steve (who can be a jerk) over Kirby any day. Lloyd is fine, but Kirby is nauseating; right there with Phil L!!

Great description of Kirby!
Something about the cadence of Lloyd's voice tho - half of what he says disappears into inaudibility for me.

The Verizon schedule finally shows coverage of all remaining stages........... but 20 & 21.
These guys are way funnier than Comedy Central!

Thanks for the info, Carol. Yes, Kirby is quite a challenge to listen to sometimes. He's like a smarmy uncle who's had one too many drinks.

You nailed it re:Kirby. And the laugh and stupid ramblings are pretty bad!
Even David Duffeld <sic?> was better than this guy :)

Oh well we have the Giro live so I need to stop whining!

Bein just updated schedule !! Giro live 8:30

Thank you for the update! It's not showing up on Verizon's schedule yet so my DVR wouldn't have recorded it.

On a different note - I just finished watching Stage 13. Yesterday I was complaining about not being able to understand Dan Lloyd half the time. I must be imaging things but today it sounded like he was making an honest attempt to project his voice and I heard every word for the first time ever. Thanks, Dan.

How is that my Bein channel on Comcast is showing something different:confused::mad:

Carol is talking about the bein stream (I believe). Comcast is not signed up to allow the stream. Bein's GdI delayed TV /Cable broadcast is this afternoon.
