And Stuey, STFU homie. That weekend warrior is the reason sponsors pay you the big bucks to ride your bike.

1) Thor did what he did in the TdF w/o Garmin's help
2) Wishing that JV will fail in the future for doing this to Thor

As for hoping JV will fail, give it a rest! The man turned a conti team into protour status in a matter of a few years. Like him or not, he's got the chops to keep his team at this level.
FWIW, JV made the right decision keeping Thor out of the Vuelta. The pros outweigh the cons.
And Stuey, STFU homie. That weekend warrior is the reason sponsors pay you the big bucks to ride your bike.
He rode last years Vuelta as training too but he still won a stage.Deagol said:great article title (pun) over at Velonews: Vaughters drops the Hammer
".... In truth, Hushovd’s Vuelta goals were bound to be personal — having more to do with preparations for his September defense of the rainbow jersey in Copenhagen than anything related to the aspirations of his current team......"
The articles in the Velonews, or the should I say the Boulder/Colorado Cycling News, on this subject are the most biased and one sided articles on the subject so far written, Good journalism is about presenting a detailed analysis of the facts on both sides of the argument, and in this type of article remaing neutral.Deagol said:great article title (pun) over at Velonews: Vaughters drops the Hammer

These articles, the one today and the one last week are the most toe-curdling, JV promotion pieces you can find. In summary for anyone who does not want to read them, they basically say whatever JV does is always right, he is the greatest manager, the most inspirational leader the world of cycling has ever known.
The worst part of the articles is that it appears the Colorado press are on a camapaign to do anything to discredit Hushovd. Why is it oK for Tyler to use Veulta for training but not Hushovd? I wonder who could be behind that. You only have to look at JVs tweets, and see he is doing everything to discredit Hushovd.
So if someone has posted the link to Vaughters Local rag, in order to provide a balanced article, I would suggest reading this and see what Norwegian journaists thought of the way Vaughters treated Thor when he won the yellow jersey.
http://www.vg.no/sport/sykkel/artikkel.php?artid=10097528 (need google translator or similar) Yes it has a pro Norway slant, but it presents the other side of the argument Velonews ignored.
On the postive side while many of the readers who comment on the Velonews articles are taken in by it, there are a good few who see through what the author is doing - I won't call witer a journalist because that would be paying him a compliment.
GJB123 said:Naturally it is okay for Tyler because he will still be with Garmin next year. I still don't see the problem and why people keep rambling on about it. Even if there is a full-blown war between Hushovd and Vaughters, it usually takes two to tango, so it would be ridiculous to put all the blame on Vaughters, or Hushhovd for that matter.
It was a simple business and/or sporting decision taken by someone whose prerogative it was to take that decision, whatever his motivation was. Deal with it and get over it!

The Livestream Diaries is Dan Wuori’s semi-factual look at the world of professional cycling...
