I think it's a good decision. They should stop signing leaders; they already have enough, and sign more domestiques, even if they win 70-80 instead of 100 races

As Christen and Morgado gain experience and improve their level, new problems will arise. They can't keep signing so much young talent.

When he's concerned about the race...I may have missed any outright declarative support for Almeida and I'm sure if he did Ayuso would've attempted to appear like he was riding for the team welfare. The optics are bad to the degree that JV is happy when he heads up the road because the know he has no intentions of helping Almeida. Pogacar is no idiot and he would be happy to have a fellow UAE rider win a stage if it supports the GC strategy.
There may be more than meets the eye but the impression is chaos. One more stage to prove the point of harmonious victory.

By one more stage I meant tomorrow's hilly Stage 20. Today's point sprint fiasco doesn't prove any harmony. It might start from the DS car but there was only one, serious point location and Jonas coasted to it.

100 victories.... 5GT, 0 GT without Pogacar.

Visma less victories, but 10 GT with 4 riders.

For me, it's a failed model. Sky preferred to dominate GT. And UAE would rather have achieved what Jumbo did in 2023 than what they did this year without Pogacar.

They need to analyze the reason. The problem could be egos and sharing the schedule. Simon hasn't won anything, but he did win the Giro. Kuss hasn't won anything, but he did win the Vuelta.
Ayuso wasn't signed to win classics in France against Scaroni, or even Tirreno Adriaco. This is fine for other riders, but they expected Ayuso to be the next GT winner, at least in the ones without Pogacar and those who were sent to lead him.

I'm talking in Visma. He won the Vuelta a seven years ago. Froome was winning the Tour at that time, look at him now .

In GT , you always have to take advantage of the days when you're feeling good. You never know what's going to happen.

Pogacar ended the Tour at Hautacam. Afterward, he came down with a bad cold, but he could relax because he'd done the work.
