Roglic when he sees the 300m to finish marker
Roglic when he sees the 300m to finish marker
If you crash in the last km, you can be lifted over the line and still start the next day. That Astana rider who crashed getting a lift on his teammates bike should totally get fined according to them rules...
Or Remco if he had a small chainring.Roglic when he sees the 300m to finish marker
Viviani crashed, unfortunately, so couldn't compete with them. But yeah, Ackermann and Bennett both finished around 20th, and today were joined by Cav, Kooij and Groenewegen instead.Probably somewhere down the road in a heated battle for 18th with Viviani and Ackermann.
Good news, but we will see how many starts tomorrow or cant finish. No DNFs after the crash
I assume it was Viviani who went over the bars against the barrier and was the Ineos rider who remained on the ground. If so, he was too far back to be involved in the sprint.Viviani crashed, unfortunately, so couldn't compete with them. Bennett fell sick after Provence btw, with the same stomach bug everyone else got. So he has a bit of an excuse.
Poole , Dunbar and Valter seems to be among those who went down.
Tough to do an ITT tomorrow, even if it is short, if they are hurt.
No DNFs after the crash
Pello Bilbao if he rode the same distance as everyone else.
yeah, that was Viviani. His positioning was totally crap, but the two Jumbos ahead of him still finished ahead of Bennett, who sat up in the end.I assume it was Viviani who went over the bars against the barrier and was the Ineos rider who remained on the ground. Luckily by the time the next completely flat stage is being ridden, Camino has also started.Looks like the chances of echelons the rest of the week are pretty slim. After wednesday the wind winds down
Wednesday there is a lot of wind predicted tho, not sure if it's in the good directions for echelons and not sure if the roads towards jebel jais are open enough, but it will be stressful before the climb already.
Actually amazed by how many GC riders still try to finish somewhat up front in stages like this. Since the 3s gap rule the chances there is actually a gap being counted are incredibly small, it's way better to just cruise in the 2nd part of the peloton the last 3km than around top 20-top30 where crashes often occur.yeah, that was Viviani. His positioning was totally crap, but the two Jumbos ahead of him still finished ahead of Bennett, who sat up in the end.

Rick did a great job. He placed Ackes perfectly at the front before the last roundabout. But Rick isn't the last man, so there was clearly somebody missing today.First race of the season for Ackermann and for his leadout so they may improve as the race goes on
Another race that will be completely dominated and suffocated by Jumbo. Hooray. Thank god there is Omloop this saturday. Oh wait...another race that...Luckily by the time the next completely flat stage is being ridden, Camino has also started.
We had a crash in Algarve due to corners and bends
I just don't believe that having more corners in the last 2 kilometers helps with the safety.Oh okay, point proven. I also saw Guerini crash uphill, so downhill is safer.
