I don’t see it. Is Golf better for Tiger Woods being well past his prime? would the NBA have been as good in that era without Michael Jordan? Has women’s tennis benefited from the retirement of Serena Williams?

Greatness should be cherished and celebrated imo and seeing a sport executed to its highest level means far more to me than seeing close competition.
I think dominant greatness is more appreciated for more skill-based ball games than for sports. Then again, perhaps many peripheral "fans" liked domination in swimming and running? Maybe I should consult the skiing thread.

Sometimes I just ask what Pogacar should do to avoid getting criticized. And probably the only answer is losing races. As we know, he will try to win

So what's Pogi going to do on Saturday's pan flat stage when he gets bored? Novak (Pogi's mini me) must be hoping for an easier day.

It's just easy for normies to jump a hypewagon and pretend they're fans of the sport when they just wanna be fans of one athlete because he wins.

And obviously the sport being 100% physical has to do with it a lot too. It's beyond ridiculous that bla blabla other subforum yadayadayada.

Yes; almost all bunch sprints Groenewegen looses the wheel of his lead outs. Looks like he is scared or something. Same with De Lie, Welsford and lots of others.

Groenewegen can hold his position if he makes the last km but its the period between 3 to 1km to go which goes wrong.
