helicopter shots like that really show how bad theyve got the pink/purple combos across too many teams now, really only Visma stand out in shots like that

PFP in trouble. I don't knot what happened to Bunel yesterday, but her GC chances were completely ruined. And now the other Frenchies are gone, too.

Dan Challis of Global Peloton had interviewed Le Court before the race, where she said that we wouldn't be targeting GC this year, and that this race was just about getting back to racing after her injury. She looks pretty good to me now.

Yeah, Bunel came in last. Actually I expected her to do better than PFP today, since PFP has never really been a climber. But not after yesterday.

Mavi the Mummy has had a rough race, too, but Trinca Colonel seems to be continuing her rise within the sport.

At least we won't be seeing anyone wearing the WWT leader's jersey anymore.

I saw someone say they dropped it because Lotte never wore it as the world champ jersey always took precedence, but Lotte never wore it because Demi led the standings for most of the year, and they rarely raced together and it wasnt passed to next best placed rider in a race, and then Demi rarely wore it because she was most often in race leading jerseys, it was only final few races I think when Demi wasnt being picked to ride that Lotte topped the standings again, but of course didnt wear it.

but I know it confused people, and yeah we dont need another purple jersey at the moment
:D

I was worried that UAE had destroyed Persico's podium chance, but she made it back. Malcotti (great ride by her) forced them to start the sprint early, and Le Court didn't keep her cool.

I was surprised to see Labous drop so early, but I'll readily admit that I don't have the firmest grasp on the female power ranking.

Stiasny finally got that Jebel Hafeet top 10!

Just a shame she once again lost too much time beforehand.

This is obviously not great start to her FDJ career, but this is not the worst place to have a bit of an off-day.

The revolution of Silvia Persico. It seems a true leader was missing at UAE.

Impressive ride by Wiebes.

Probably showing enough promise on a mountain for me to pick her in every CQ game for the next 5 years in the hope of a repeat.

I would recommed only picking her for the women's CQ game.

BTW, everyone; despite what the headline says there's a stage tomorrow (9/2) as well.

Persico won the first intermediate sprint ahead of Le Court, who then retaliated by finishing third in the second sprint, so the gap between them is still 2 seconds.
