For a second I thought Tiberi can hang on but he went really deep to close first attack. I wonder how things would pan out withouth motos getting involved.

Interesting microcosm all race of Del Toro's climbing I think, very good on 7-8% but is a bit taller and has a few kilogram disadvantage so it evens out the steeper it gets.

My goal is to win GC and 2 stages.
Pre-race interview with Evenepoel discusses his team with focus on rouleurs in case of echelons, since UAE can do the heavy work in the mountains. He’s mostly focused on Del Toro but understands there are others in the mix too. His goal is to win 2 stages and the GC. Would bring his tally up to 9 victories.
I just remembered this interview with Remco.

8 guys breaking the climbing record, there was some messing around at the front too when they realised they had gone out too fast and everyone just stopped dead, must've been a pretty decent tailwind.

Seeing Plapp's climb, perhaps Tiberi should have climbed at his own pace like the other day and not gone out on explosive attacks.

That was a brutal attack and long attack

It cost in the end to follow, but what choice did he had

Hard to say if he would have been able to come back or limit damage better if not following

Maybe, maybe not
