I wonder how far in the development of the bike they are. Is it ready and reliable for World Cup use, where he needs ranking points.
Chur this weekend could be a good test, seems like it could be a mini World Cup, and there is Red Bull TV coverage, albeit without English language.
I can't image a bike this far along not having been tested (cycled) because frame building is a precise process at the factories, but who knows. I know that you are aware that mechanicals can and do happen with very well sorted bikes forks, shocks, shifters, derailleurs, rims, tires...

Was PFP riding the same set up? Hers survived.

Great racing today in Chur!

Impressive stuff from Richards in the womens race even if the gap to the others got extended when they played tactical games. Rather disappointing from Neff though, but it is from next week it really matters. Great field today though, from my mind we were only missing Lecomte, McConnel, Rissveds and Mitternvallner from the big guns.

The mens race was a good show as well with Piddock playing it easy in the beginning, I never believed he was suffering because he crawled back the time lost uphil so easily each time but it was still very exciting when he dropped the hammer. Flueckiger did well to fight back though, it looked like he was very strong each lap at the end of the climb in forrest. The uphil sprint from Piddock was very dominant so no doubt the strongest rider won.

Thanks for the link.

Really enjoyed that.
Seconded!

Have been browsing the MTB forum a bit more recently, and yesterday couldn't have been more opportune. Perfect Sunday evening viewing before a rare Monday off work (Coronation Holiday here in The UK).

Unique course for me in terms of the combination of urban and natural environments, and the innovative camerawork. Also really enjoyed the commentary from Rob Warner and Jose which was a bit bittersweet, as it seems neither will be on Discovery?

If you're not a fan of Pidcock, it's looking a little ominous for The Worlds. Nice to see a healthy Evie again to add to the mix.

Yeah. Realistically it's between the two Annes and Pieterse. As for Van Empel, I'm sorry but I don't see it. She's just not good enough on the mountainbike, and apparently she's had some health problems.

She's entered for the Elite race for Nove Mesto, which I don't quite understand; her results in U23 don't warrant moving up to Elite, unless it's a rule - whereas Burquier, Pedersen are entered in U23.....

I think Jumbo have gone along with her mtb ambitions because of the Olympics. She simply has to get results in the elite race to even stand a chance of going there. But it's just not realistic, and it only sets her up for disappointment. She needs more time.

Yeah, I think they've gone down the wrong path; she should be spending a year in U23 to get points, and race Short Track. Top10, even Top5 results would have been possible. She was 2nd in the U23 Euros, ahead of Pedersen - that's a decent result.
At the moment her ranking doesn't allow her to race Short Track in Elites, so it's all on the XCO races - a big ask.

Being a CX World champion is no guarantee of success in XC MTB.....I hope she can be competitive.

They should have made a choice: either you do a full road season, and you do it well, or you do an mtb season, and build up gradually through the U23s. Now she's doing a bit of both, and both not very well. Of course it didn't help that she got injured, or whatever problem she had.
