IMO, Pat had some sayso in it. I could be wrong, but the head of the UCI not having anything to do with this? sounds fishy. You may be right, just saying IMO, I think Pat knew or had a hand in it somehow.

You think? You don't know!
First when are EPO users getting caught? at races? NO they are getting caught at home. USADA can order out of competition checks for US riders a few days before the race and maybe they will catch one but not at the race. If you are going to spend a big wad of money on EPO tests then perform them when a rider might be using it. Since so many here spend all their forum time in the clinic maybe a little application of doping knowledge to focus your energies.

In the current political climate at the UCI I doubt pat goes anywhere near the UCI staff responsible for anti doping He is far to engrossed in his re-election campaign to bother with the who is testing at Colorado?

Tagart is no friend of the sport either. He is building his resume on the backs of LA and cycling. I am just as cynical of USADA's motivation for making an issue of this. They can test the hell out of Utah and catch the cheats before they go to Colorado.

More nonsense.

Yes, we do know. We know that pat was involved in agreeing to USADA testing at ToC.....then reneging at the last second. Pat has made it clear he is obsessed with with USADA and will do anything to disrupt them. This has been pat's modius for years. Fights with the ASO, RCS, Riders, Teams, WADA, USADA. Petty, stupid fights.

The "Evil Travis" talking point just makes you look silly. Do you really think that Travis should have ignored 12 direct witnesses? If Travis wants to be famous where are all the interviews? He hardly speaks to the press.

Don't let Tygart fool you, he is not the white night you think of.

Yes, that is for sure. He's always had a smug, arrogant and obviously biased viewpoint on the world, which he casts and holds everybody else to.

The guy has withheld information, facts and evidence from the general public, to this day, under the guise of the "Federal Lawsuit" now.

If the guy had any true morals, he would be chasing down everybody and insuring they were evicted out of the sport forever, that were involved with the last 15yrs of cycling and doping involved.

Yet, we all know how Lance got the ban, Danielson, Dave Z, Levi and the likes, all got a short suspension and pass. Hincapie still actively involved in racing, team sponsor, clothing and other businesses....ridiculous.

There has been a very organized campaign to smear Travis and USADA, it appears some fell for it.

The WADA code is clear that assistance and information can result in reduced sanctions. Some riders chose that path, while others chose the lawsuit/smear campaign route. That was a mistake

THIS ^^^^^^

If we would have believed the Lance propaganda machine, Tygart would have had his own reality show by now.

The UCI were the first in 1997 to do blood testing
they were the first to set a HC value of 50%
they were the first to EPO test riders
they were the first with the blood passport

And now they do not test for EPO, HGH and testosterone because Travis says so:rolleyes:

Travis has no power to test every Athlete within the borders of the USA, do not blame the UCI, blame yourself Travis.
This war between the UCI and USADA is going for a year now.

Funny how some of the more weak-willed and less intellectually independent fall so easily for smear-campaigns.

timbo25, you forgot that the same UCI colluded with dopers?

no, i did not forget, but USADA is not clean either

Nope.

IAAF did blood testing and OOC testing years prior to UCI
The riders asked for 50%
The EPO test was developed by a WADA lab (LNDD) and approved by WADA/IOC for the 2000 Olympics
WADA invented the Biopassport and FIS was the first Fed to implement it. The initial idea came from Micheal Ashenden in this paper http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11869930

Any more nonsense?

"The IAAF has historically been the pioneering international sport federation in the field of anti-doping. The IAAF began out of competition testing in 1989 and blood testing in 2001 and almost all of the key procedures in anti-doping in use have been originated by our sport.
(4 years later)

The Swedish cyclist Niklas Axelsson tested positive for EPO in 2000

The athlete passport has received a lot of attention when its blood module was established at the beginning of the 2008 racing season by the Union Cycliste Internationale!
UCI was the first one to use the passport.

Asheden was working at that time for the UCI.

any more faulty facts from your side?

You are confused.

Again.

The UCI did not do blood testing for doping in 1997, it was only a "health check" that could result in a 2 week vacation, no sanction. The 50% level did nothing to stem the use of EPO, in fact it gave approval to dope to a specific level. The IAAF was the first to use blood tests for doping tests. UCI should have been doing it years earlier as it can give more accurate results for EPO

The EPO test was developed by LNDD, a WADA lab.

The Bio passport was a WADA idea. They pushed the UCI to adopt it. UCI resisted for years

Ashenden was not working with the UCI when he helped develop the EPO test. Neither was Parisotto.

Ashenden was not working for the UCI when he wrote the first paper on the BioPassport

Despite this lame attempt at revisionist history most understand that Pat and Hein have done little to fight doping for 20 years

not so reliable, because enough riders have been tested positive on EPO

In Italy genius. In Italy. Forum is back up and the usual tripe starts.

Name us a few riders who have tested positive for EPO in the States this year?

You should be on the UCI payroll. That's some quality denial you've got going on there.

Your major sports in the USA genius, are protected by unions. They won't let WADA in. Cycling is an Olympic sport. USADA do the LOCAL testing and have FULL authority to test all cycling events because they are in charge of enforcing WADA's rules and code. There is only one reason the UCI would stop them...because doping is going on.

You probably never understood the irony of AMGEN sponsoring the ToC either did you? This stuff you've posted is unbelievable. You are so far off the reserve it isn't funny. Gotta take it up a few notches champ you're playing in the big leagues now!

Edit: You've been arguing USADA and UCI detail with RR! Epic failure on your behalf right there. As I said, if you're not on the UCI payroll, you should be.

The only 'fact' you introduced above is that "Niklas Axelsson tested positive for EPO in 2000" - which is wrong, it was late 2001.

i think you have to correct these faults on the internet and wiki and so on
since you are the only source for the facts you are stating.

it only shows that USADA is failing, just like they tested lance and could not find anything.
they fail at testing boxers too, but thats kinda offtopic.
Furthermore UCI did not everything on doping, i agree, but they did more than UEFA, FIFA, IOC.
The world of sports is not black and white, lots of gray area's.

More nonsense.

USADA tested Lance for 7 months of his 1st career. When he foolishly tried to come back they got him. You do realize that 40% of sanctions in the last 18 months have been non-analytical positives? Testing is only one element of the process. The UCI could have pursued much of the evidence that brought down lance years ago, they did nothing

The UCI did more then the IOC? The key motivator for the IOC to start WADA was the UCI's complete failure to police their sport. The Festina affair made it clear that the UCI was not going to address the issue and an independent testing agency needed to be set up
