I'd love to see a WC on a true cobbled course one year too. I'd like to see a race for the spring specialists, even as a one off. If the sprinters and Ardennes specialists get their years, the tough guys should as well!

Arnout said:The Carousel at least would give cobble specialists a chance to shine too
El Pistolero said:Ballan, Hushovd, Boonen, Gilbert.
I wonder what they have in common.

The Hitch said:Gilbert is the odd one out. He has never podiumed Paris Roubaix. He is not a cobbled specialist.
El Pistolero said:He has podiumed the Ronde van Vlaanderen twice, Hushovd has never been on the podium there.
Ryo Hazuki said:flanders is more a hilly race with lesser competition than agr and lbl
El Pistolero said:AGR is the worst of the classics. A boring race with a ridiculous name.
El Pisti only says this though because his Belgian pride was hurtDescender said:So true.

Amstel isn't more boring than, say, Fleche.
Libertine Seguros said:You guys are clearly forgetting the Official Worst Race In The World®.
Some people actually consider that a classic.
Descender said:What race is Libertine referring to? G-W?
The Hitch said:Something that ends with a sprint in an area where there is huge potential, has never been won by an Iberian athlete, overhypes itself and probably takes place in an english speaking country.
So the proposed London classic which said that it would be as big as Paris Roubaix in the next 5 years. Only since that hasnt materialized yet, probably Cali. Oh wait, if its 1 day race, mmm Cancer county classic? Ok no one considers it a classic, maybe the Vattenberg thing.
Descender said:Vattenberg? Vattenfall Cyclassics?

The Hitch said:Yeah, thats the one. I knew it was wrong when i typed it but my computer is slow so didnt bother looking it up.
Zam_Olyas said:Oscar Friere won it once.
This is the off season so a bit of quiz it is
Descender said:It can't be Vattenfall then. I looked up the list of winners and I can't find any Oscar Friere among them.
