Are there any riders - other than Seixas and Withen - who are going straight to the pros next year? Quite a few who are joining devo-team, some with pro contracts further down the line.

Also, do we talk about the women's race here, or somewhere else?

We're still waiting for Sumpik confirmation, but it is looking likely the list ends with those two, and that is exactly right I'd say.

The Itt's have shown that the last sector is the most important, so, you have to get your pacing right. I was slightly disappointed with Holmes performance as I was expecting a gold or silver medal. Anyway, he has limited road experience, so he will get better in the next year.

Oh great, another potential star rider it's going to be really hard not to meme on the name of. Not a homonym like Riley Sheahan/Riley Sheehan but the similarities of upper case P and R is going to make it hard to get used to. Raul Seixas was a hugely popular Brazilian rock star in the 70s and shouting "Toca Raul!" at gigs has become something of a Brazilian equivalent of the "Freebird!" heckle. To the point where Bruce Springsteen once opened a gig in São Paulo with a Raul Seixas cover to prevent being bombarded with it.

Seixas is a monster. Don't know he could ITT like that. He's had great results but I think they're underplaying his talent because of his lack of race craft. I caught a race that Philipsen ended up winning where Seixas probably attacked the front group a dozen times over the final 50km. He just looked bored and the others took turns chasing him, in the end couldn't out sprint Philipsen

Here I'd imagine?

Annoyed that I won't be able to watch the next instalment of the CX/Road rivalry between Gery and Ferguson. The latter withdrawing from the race at the weekend due to illness isn't good timing. Does anyone have any news?

* * * * * Albert Withen Philipsen
* * * * Paul Seixas, Pavel Sumpik
* * * Lorenzo Finn, Hector Alvarez, Felix Orn-Kristoff
* * Paul Fietzke, Adria Pericas, Ashlin Barry, Jasper Schoofs
* Senna Remijn, Patryk Goszczurny, Kasper Borremans, Erazem Valjavec, Reef Roberts

Let's see how much we can butcher it this time around. First of all, I didn't factor in the harsh, harsh weather conditions that awaits the peloton since there are very little references as to who benefits from them. Secondly, I tried to avoid doubling on the same nationalities as much as possible, unless there was just no way out (Spain). Hence why no Sparfel, Moller, Clemmensen, Innhaug Dahl, Bessega, Zomermaand, Boussemaere e.g.

That being said, I don't care what happened in the ITT. Though both worthy of 5 stars, I'm still giving the nod to AWP. Just has more ways to win, basically. Seixas would have to get rid of him, not the other way around. For that, I'm sticking with it. The same reason I am giving Sumpik the nod ahead of Finn. This doesn't mean I think he will get bronze, I just think he is more likely to win, as Finn would have to arrive solo.

Prediction: 1. Albert Withen Philipsen, 2. Paul Seixas, 3. Hector Alvarez

Was there an explanation after the TT why he performed under expectations?
