Great story.

Jens Voight tells a story about big Jan and his largeness. He said that if Jens drives to the McDonalds drive through with his kids no one cares. But if Jan went within 5km's of a fast food store the German press were there taking a photo and writing a story. It wouldn't matter if he'd drilled out 200km that day. They persecuted him. It's so strange a guy like Ullrich had been completely cut out of the sport. I think he knows too much to be honest.

Yes, was always like that.

That´s the problem too. If he tells his story, he must and I think he also wants to tell the whole story. Not just that Fuentes thing.

"There is suicide risk at the BDR." Scharping said once.

And this Freiburg investigation was just funny - for the people who followed and understood what really happened there. Everything was hushes up and some sacrificial lambs were shot.

As a minor correction (or major, depending on who your God is--Cthulhu, the dark spirit I serve is very particular about these things) sacrificial lambs are not shot. You use a knife.

Rudy tells much, when the day is long. Would have been better for Jan, if he never met him.
Every human being is different. Ullrich was never fat - he just wasn´t that skinny for the whole season, because his body couldn´t handle it and wasn´t like that. When german newspaper wrote that Ullrich was fat, he just looked normal in reality - of course not that skinny, as in the third week of the tour.
During the offseason, every (professional)cyclist eats much and gains weight.

But that were great times and storys: The Ullrich weight-watch :p

Your Impression was wrong. Nothing is over yet for Ullrich.
On court (Franke) and on the sportingcourt (UCI, Suisse Cycling-->CAS).

Of course Jan always said that he enjoys his live now and that he is happy.
But I suspected all the time that he actually doesn´t.
Jan, as a person, is too good for that. I don´t say he is a softy, but he is just a good, nice guy.

You can now all see that he doesn´t enjoy his live.

I have a soft spot for Jan. Never liked the fat jokes, lack of motivation stories, "lazy" analysis'. I can't really recall Jan ever saying anything bad or derogatory about anyone. I'll always be a Jan supporter so I'm just hoping he finds happiness and solitude in his life. He deserves it.

Jan is probably pushing to large a gear in the world of life. People don't like seeing sausages being made. With Ulrich, people do not want to see Ulrich eating sausages. I hear Jan is in training trying to beat the Japanese sausage eating champion. Dr. Ferrari is secretly working with Jan in Tenifre on doping techniques for more hot dog eating capability.

You never fail to remind me what a (sorry Hugh) hugh januss you insist on being.

I have a great admiration for huge J. Many famous world leaders model themselves after him.

I love Ulrich. Never thought him fat never acussed him of PEDs. I love Magenta and the whole Telekom team.

All the haters that hate fat well they hate fat. I and my family are large framed.

I hope Jan does well. Quality person. Honestly I worry about what he was fed at the E. German sports school he lived in. I can tell you stories about the E. German women Olympian swimmers, their complications in pregnancy, long after competing. Very sad E. Germany home of the stassi and the remnants of the Reich. The athletes and dissidents were victims of reppresion.

Best to Jan and all our family in Germany, and you.

Ullrich claimed burnout from "being overworked" does he have another job we are unaware of?

Make that + 1002.

Can't remember anyone ever saying anything bad about Jan as a person. Even all of his rivals liked him. I'm hoping he does well moving on with his life, and if and when the time comes that he wants to write a tell-all book, I'm sure it won't be filled with "self-ownage syndrome".

What's the attraction in making fun of someone whom most of you have never met and don't know? Especially when the mocking focuses on his weight and mental health and attacks him personally, when the focus of this forum is ostensibly encouraging debate and discussion on doping in cycling.

And if you're going to claim that it's b/c of Ullrich's alleged-doping that he enjoys no peace in his private life, then shouldn't you be able to say just that w/o resorting to fat jokes and, again, mocking someone you've never even met?
