Uno-X press conference to reveal the squad for Tour de France

The goal is to win a stage. They want to be competitive on every stage. Another small aim is to have 10 top 10 stage finishes. They want to be part of creating entertainment at the race.

Team:
Magnus Cort
Sören Waerenskjold:
His goal is a win a sprint stage.
Andreas Leknessund: Disappointed not to be part last year so this is extra fun this year. Used Dauphine to train and to show he deserves a spot.
The rest are not present at the press conference:
Tobias Halland Johannesen
Anders Halland Johannesen
Jonas Abrahamsen
Markus Hoelgaard
Stian Fredheim

So no Alexander Kristoff, Johannes Kulset, Fredrik Dversnes, Rasmus Tiller or Andreas Kron.

Interesting choice with Stian Fredheim. Hushovd mentions him both as a lead out for Sören Waerenskjold but also in case Sören does not manage to sit with the peloton to the end at some stages then Fredheim will also be a back up for the sprints. He also praised Stians positional abilities when navigating a sprint.

Huh? According to PCS, they're not racing any of the "coinciding with the Tour" races, and nothing between the Tour and PNDKR?
I was sure they'd bring Kristoff to a race like Wallonie, aiming to reach win #100.
I don't think Wallonie is revealed yet whether they are going or not. PCS only has 10 teams so far.

As for the other races during the Tour, it was mainly Sibiu Tour and Tour of Austria that could be realistic but it seems they have left a lot of 2.1 races out of their calendar since they are not really worth it for the points. The GC only gives as much as a 1.1 race. Qinghai Lake is 2.PS but it likely costs a lot to travel to China.

Kron is out due to a back injury.

Unfortunately it's a recurring problem for him.

Like Hushovd havent forgotten the way Kristoff took away Thors last breakaway victory.. THis is his revenge, and he got Kurt Asle Arvesen kicked out of UnoX also..

I think you are being a bit too conspirational here.
Dropping Kristoff from the Tour team isnt that controversial based on actual performances, for example the cycling journalists in TV2 Sykkelpodden has talked about that being the right decision the whole spring season.

Getting Arvesen kicked out was definitively more controversial at the time, but the results this season has backed up Hushovds claim of a structural change needed as the team has perfromed much better this year.

I was never a fan of Hushovd as a rider, and I was sceptical about him becoming the team boss, but so far he has delievered. Him also dropping Kulset from the Tour-team and "ruining the family holiday" of his boss (father Kulset) shows integrity.

Abrahamsen apparently has collarbones of steel...

(From FB)

"Jonas Abrahamsen confirmed for Tour de France – against all odds
🇫🇷

Less than ten days ago, Jonas Abrahamsen suffered a fractured collarbone. Today, he is officially confirmed for the Uno-X Mobility Tour de France line-up.
Following a medical review in Manchester with one of the world’s leading shoulder specialists, the decision has been made: Jonas is cleared to race. The expert described the recovery as highly impressive – noting that the shoulder appeared to be healing like an injury sustained eight weeks ago, not just nine days. He also remarked that Jonas was “healing as well as a 12-year-old.”
The 29-year-old was forced to abandon the team’s final warm-up race after a crash on stage 1 in Belgium. At the time, the chance of seeing him at the Grand Départ in Lille seemed close to zero. Further assessments later showed that the fracture was less severe than initially feared – and since then, Jonas has made a remarkable recovery.
“I’m really happy and thankful. I believed it was possible – but it feels a bit crazy to be confirmed just nine days after the crash. I think it’s still possible to do something big, for me and for the team. Now I just can’t wait to start the Tour,” says Abrahamsen. “I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received from the team to make this possible,” he adds.
“Jonas is one of the most dedicated guys I’ve ever seen on a bike. What he’s done to get back here is simply incredible. We’ll continue to support him in the days leading up to the Tour, and we’re proud to have him on the start line. This should not have been possible,” says Thor Hushovd, General Manager of Uno-X Mobility Cycling AS."

We'll have to see after the Tour whether it was the correct decision. He was reportedly in the shape of his life before the crash so it's understandable that they want to give him all the chance in the world to get fit and ride. My concern is that even if the break seems healed, will he really be able to ride the same sustained max efforts as he would otherwise do or will the injury still hamper him in some way.
