Will they get the information gathered?

I am just flabbergasted here. How...why...?

Perhaps the case proved too big? An army of serial killers would need to be offered immunity for their crimes just to not perjure themselves while testifying against LA?
Would be interesting to see how those who didn't need immunity to testify against LA will respond.
And SCA, will they be able to see into GJ records to decide whether or not to hear witnesses in a sequel to that disaster against justice?

Wow ! just read it off twitter..
Yes, it looks likes its done, its over and Novitzky's effort was a waste of time. I guess it becomes an X-File ? :D

Not over at all. Have a look at who wrote the AP press release.

USADA are still investigating and they dont have nearly the burden of proof that the feds have. The feds have been scared off by the bonds trial etc, but there is no doubt enough information to be useful to USADA

However US Anti Doping Agency CEO Travis T. Tygart has said that the matter isn’t over. “Unlike the U.S. Attorney, USADA’s job is to protect clean sport rather than enforce specific criminal laws,” he indicated in a statement. “Our investigation into doping in the sport of cycling is continuing and we look forward to obtaining the information developed during the federal investigation.”

If you think this is over you are very wrong, the ball has just been handed off to USADA. It will much easier for them to prove he doped, once USADA have imposed a decision, then it will be much easier for the feds to re-open a case.

sure, but with what resources do they have ? I think Lance's lawyers will crush anything the USADA attempt to throw at them. Novitzky needs to find something else to do now.

Yup. Clearly Fabiani got the job done. USADA's funding could be put in jeapordy even easier than the reach around required to make it look clean in Congress.

Nevermind Wiesel runs USAC. My limited understanding is USADA can come to whatever conclusion they want. USAC is the enforcer of said decision. USAC doesn't have to enforce anything. I'd be happy to be wrong about this.

How quickly can USADA act?

Another year or two waiting for USADA investigations to come to a close?

Still, the feds not prosecuting is amazing, considering the effort put in by Novitzky and co.

Another dead end for Novitzky. He must be demoralised.

Was the burden of proof too difficult? Will we ever know? Or do bags of money for the best shonky lawyers always trump justice?

Reactions Floyd, Tyler...

Short sweet statement from USADA. IF they had no intention to do lance for doping why would they say this, in fact, if they had nothing, why would they put out a press statement at all?

I would say USADA will be making a big play.

and yeh, thats me done

Im no lance hater but it would be very sad if someone like him gets off and a classy guy like contador gets the stick.

Classy unfortunatly does not mean justice, I'm definitely not a fan of Contador but the man has class. But being classy unfortunatly doesn't mean someone is clean. :(

Lots of room for maybes....
Justice is easily bought and sold in the U.S.
Fabiani's work is now legendary.
Maybe the case was weak inside the U.S.?
Maybe the prosecuting attorney passed for political reasons? We know the Attorneys General office is fully politicized.
Maybe the prosecuting attorney passed because of the defendant(s) celebrity status?
Maybe the prosecuting attorney passed because of the defendant(s) ability to afford another Fabiani or three in a trial?

Classic bad news Friday release.
