"lots" might be stretching it. "some" is perhaps more precise. Or even "a few".

It makes a difference at the amateur level. I live at 5400-ft and have no breathing issues at all up to 11,000-ft cycling. Two years ago I lived at sea level and riding at 7,000-ft killed me.

I'd be very careful in discussion about blood physiology with Ryo.
He's nearly an expert when it comes to the matter.
He knows almost everything about influence of heritage and environment on hematocrit level and their relative contribution to it.

You can ensure here that he knows very well what he's talking about.
