USAC Can't let Armstrong Go

Not only does USA Cycling not give Armstrong's shop sponsoring a bike race a second thought, Livestrong (.com? .org?) is still sponsoring bike races!

I don't get it. Livestrong and Mellow Jonny's are not LA - they are a bunch of people who didn't believe LA would do what he was accused of - and did do.

But the icedT concert - I don't listen to much hard rock any more - but that's pretty damn good. Party down . . .

The people at Livestrong (.com?? .org??) isn't the topic of conversation. The fact that Armstrong anything is still closely associated with the national cycling federation should be a clue that nothing has changed at the federation that supported the Armstrong fraud. Not only has nothing changed, but there's no sense at the federation that associating Lance Armstrong with an Olympic federation is somehow okay.

An extreme analogy that might work is organized crime sponsoring a sports team, Texas Rangers Baseball being owned by the Sinaloa cartel. Meanwhile, it turns out the Baseball federation IS the Sinaloa cartel.

You're giving USAC credit for being organized.

Haha!!! So true.

Okay, maybe for the less opinionated reader, Livestrong/Johnny cycling sponsorships in 2014 is more like Bernard Madoff offering retirement seminars.

That image just inspires outside sponsor confidence in cycling.

It is not so much USAC, they are late to this game.

The US cup is owned by Scott Tedro, CEO of Showair. He is a good friend of Lance and a huge supporter of the sport. This is his deal, not USAC

I dont think livestrong is connected to lance anymore....I could be wrong I guess but I think they totally dropped him? Anyways its absolutely NO SECRET that guys within USAC and UCI like Lance and were very sad to ban him, they loved his contributions and wanted to keep that coming as it was more $$ into their pockets.
