What about USA Cycling or the UCI (as DW suggests)? They'd know about suspensions, but they wouldn't know about the riders that don't have licenses anymore?

That would explain a lot.

That could be the case, but as fervently as JV said it was untrue, and him and his riders being part of the suspension in question, I tend to think that the 6 months may have been discussed, but are not actually sanctions at this point, nor has their certainty been confirmed with the riders involved. Also note that Mr. Armstrong almost certainly has sympathetic members of each organization who would be willing to leak information for him.

But that is certainly just a guess on my part. Nothing has been confirmed by the body that is responsible here, and until that happens, I just don't think we are doing anything differently than we always do, and that is spitball theories. I don't find the report credible at this point.

I'm thinking the suspensions may have been discussed between USADA and USA Cycling, but not shared with the riders. I'm trying to harmonize my trust in the NYT and my trust in Vaughters.

It makes sense that Lance's USA Cycling buddies could be doing everything they can to help him.

This is what happens when LL rides clean?

Many riders said today was brutal. The pace was high all day before the climb. Hard intervals, then by the time the climb stared, many riders said they were already tapped out. They went 120 miles before the climb, they arent automobiles, they are people and were worn out by that time.

Why no claim of doping with Team Sky who has 3 guys at the front hammering 500watts for 15 minutes nearly?

Have googled some polls. Around 70% (some at 80+, some in the low 60s) believe that Armstrong doped. That´s a good sign. Now, when will his sponsors show him the cold shoulder? Those days will be fantastic...

Someone needs to write a letter to Oakley & Nike ....

Is this crib-sheet on Lance - over at cyclismas- any use use as a reference for Clinicians?

click it to get the full picture.

Yes, this is interesting.

However, given that Lance was a pro for as long as he was, and with all of the (soon to be cancelled) palmares, you can probably draw a line to just about anyone in cycling that you want.

For example, while there is tremendous acrimony between Lance and Greg, they both had business deals with Trek, Giro, Oakley, etc.

Lance has connections with Phil and Paul, but so does Frankie.

can someone refresh my memory about the Lance - Bob Roll connection?

Bob Roll is a former member of Motorola.

He also rode for Greg LeMond bicycles as the featured MTB personality.

They spent some weeks at a Carmichael camp that seemed to be a breakthrough for Lance. They were riding looong miles in the rain without other people. Bob knows what Lance was doing.

appparently Michelob and Nissan already have the message. Come to think of it...the Trek ad on the most recent Tour broadcast had no Lance.

WTC took the "Lance" tab off the Ironman website.

David Walsh on Armstrong/USADA

Armstrong’s complaint that USADA’s chief executive is conducting a vendetta against him is a tactic he has used before. It used to be the French who were against him; physical therapist Emma O’Reilly was a disgruntled former employee, Betsy Andreu was the embittered wife of a former teammate, Mike Anderson was a troublesome former personal assistant, Greg LeMond a jealous ex-champion.

Armstrong’s difficulty is not Tygart but the amount of evidence he has accumulated. When interviewed under oath by federal officers in an investigation that was closed down in February, some of the cyclists asked that Tygart sit in on the interview. He heard what they told chief federal investigator Jeff Novitzky and his colleagues and when interviewed by Tygart as part of USADA’s investigation they weren’t going to give different answers to the same questions.

I know he does but how does he maintain that phony, goofy, jovial act? Can you elaborate on the bolded?

The enablers of this $hit, and the apologists, phony "nice" guys like Hincapie annoy me more than Armstrong. After all, Armstrong is insane, and after going back through Mike Anderson's lawsuit, it's obvious.

Telling lies to the Feds will get you jail time. Active riders telling lies to USADA is part of the game. It's totally normal for the doped culture in cycling to lie to USADA.

The article is behind a paywall. Not much more interesting then what I posted

I doubt anyone told USADA anything different.

The dozen others didn't tell the truth to USADA, they didn't lie to the Feds. If it was just USADA they would have lied. All dopers and people with agendas tell lies.

Bit of a redundant point there, twisting the facts. Everyone lies, so of course dopers lie too. That doesn't mean they don't tell the truth, too.

Incredible how the Lance fanboys are grasping at straws all the time.

They have more perseverance than the man himself as a rider. He's not the legend, they are. The enternal army fed with the energy from hope due to lies. It's poetry. BelieveStrong.
