sorry people, but this does not change the fact that he won 7 Tour's, he was the one that pedaled every stroke, he covered attacks, he attacked, he crossed every finish line, he stood on the champs elysees 7 times in the yellow jersey, you simply can not take that away from him no matter how loud you scream 'cheater' now.
I don't like Lance, nor have I ever been a fan, but this is very detrimental to cycling and helps no one, thanks Travis Tygart and POS rat fink Landis

SRSLY? how can identifying the ills of the peloton be "detrimental to cycling"?

Please do explain.

There's quite a few Lance koolaid sippers still, who actually.STILL believe he didnt dope. Even when the witness testimony comes out nailing him, they STILL wont believe it.

There's a few fb'ers who are still.clueless.........unreal. Then again, these people still believe in the tooth fairy, the boogeyman, Santa claus & the easter bunny too. You have to consider the source though when mentioning them.

Ok, thanks. The reason i asked was because of coporations like Trek/Nike decision to stick with their guy. They will do if they judge there still is a market for the guy to exploit and if his name in, for example, the US is pretty much intact, then...

I dunno what Armstrongs deal with Nike is but he cant be their biggest fish.

What will happen next - will Wiggins be stripped of this year's TDF title in 2025? What is the point of watching the race if a "true" winner is announced 13 years after the race has ended?

I see only a very very slim chance of the UCI taking this to CAS.

If they were to do that, they would not just be up against USADA, but WADA too. It's highly unlikely that the IOC would accept that, it would be all over for the UCI before it starts. The whole case would undermine the IOC/WADA anti-doping movement. The only way it happens is if Pat and Hein have enough dodgy friends left that they are allowed to proceed.

The way I see it happening is the UCI doing nothing for as long as possible. I think they will pretend that there is no USADA sanction and just ignore it. Eventually they may be forced to accept things, but who knows when that will be.

Amaury is just as interesting. As far as I am aware they are under no obligation to follow up on the USADA ruling (maybe AFLD has a role to play?). If they don't want to, they could leave their record books unedited. If the UCI accepts it, Amaury will too, but I think public pressure and pressure from other stakeholders (or not) in the sport is more likely to be the trigger which forces them to act.

Probably a smart decision by Armstrong. The drones will keep saying it's a witch hunt, if he went through a trial all kinds of nasty details would get out and the only supporters he'd have left would be his sockpuppets.

Still, seeing him stripped of his titles makes me happy. Time to change your twitter Bio, Lancey!

I don't know if it's smart, but it might be the least bad of his options at this point.

Have just seen TV news is NZ and it pretty much vilifies Lanceyboy. LAs claims of dodgy jurisdiction.. blah, blah, etc. were mentioned but only in the last 5 seconds as a footnote. Generally NZ news in feed at night is a rip off of what will turn up on UK news feed in the morning... we'll see.

Do you think SKY/Wiggins/Froome will shake a little? This shows you can win the glory now but SHAME will come later. It is good news for Cycling. I hope pros will ask, is it worth it? They will catch with you even when you are retired.

This is really the beginning of the end of Armstrong in terms of the court of public opinion. There's a bunch of gullible people posting on his Facebook right now but give it time and that will charge as more and more damning articles come out, some of those posting might turn into his most vociferous critics having believed in him so strongly.

As far as him going to jail or ending up broke goes, I don't really care as long as the general public see's him for who he really is.

Yeah Nibali should be feeling happy with is 3rd position......... who knows in future it could be a TdF title. Contador first title (Rasmussen stripped of yellow jersey), Perreiro (Landis stripped), Andy Schleck (Contador stripped) and now all of Lance's 7 with 4 time winner Ullrich and beloki and others.

This can't be the end. US should sue Mr. Armstrong, and take all the money he gained by cheating. Also he should probably go to prison for that. This can't be the end. He is one of the biggest Frauds World saw in many years.

Read the CNNSI article I posted above and why Lance will likely remain a celebrity.

You seriously think Greg Lemond wasnt doped to the gills as well? Now Lance and Greg can both talk on equal terms. Lemond was and always will be a tool.

Definitely. Sooner or later Sky will come unstuck. But that's another story on another thread. For the moment I will enjoy my moment of fanboyism ;)
