Complete buffoons

Well, I'm going to be one of the "Complete buffoons".

Still no proof, still no reason for allegations from the past.

Is Eddy Merckx next? Take all his titles away!

Contrador still beat Andy Schleck!

USADA have the proof and would have presented it, but Armstrong did not give them the chance. USADA treat this a pleading guilty, and move to sentencing.

Love this from Hinault:
"I don't f***ing care. It's his problem not mine. It's a problem that should have been solved 10 or 15 years ago and that wasn't."

Francois Pervis (french track cyclist) on twitter:

What a farce this Armstrong affair. The runner-ups declared winners are better?
Hmmm... an tainted asterisk maybe a better reminder.

Cyrille Guimard: "Armstrong has still won his seven Tours. But everyone knows that they were tainted"

I like the self actualization. Good for you!

I have to think that Hinault is a little bit happy, even if he won't say so. It was a farce to have Armstrong with more wins than him.

I am really disappointed by de Jongh's comment - "By deleting Lance, the list of winners doesn't become more credible." - if the titles were left vacant(which is the only way to go IMHO) that would be more credible because there would be one fraudster less on the list, right?

And I'm in no way surprised with Brian Holm's comment - who said that justice has to be quick - even slow justice is better than no justice? Of course it's better if it is quick, but finally it is a matter of giving negative reinforcement to dopers and the whole community to show them the values we want to see in sports and that they can't/won't evade/hide from consequences of cheating.

More news that makes my eyes rain:

Armstrong's biggest sponsor and Livestrong partner Nike continued to support the American. "Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position. Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors,” the firm said in a statement.

shows that LA's strategy hasn't been bad in terms of damage control

Ain't life funny. Last night I was swearing I'd never do again what I did yesterday. Now today I can't wait to do it again.

We've all been there: "That's it! I'm never going to touch another drop! ever!"

What is the word I'm looking for here...

the sociopath tweets.

The emergance of a Jake La Motta for cycling. Soon be in strip bars reciting poetry about his days in cycling.

If this means the heads who let him do his thing will not be punished this would be a sad day for cycling in my book. I don't care for LA personally, he is just the exploit of the dark ages. Kimmage says the same I just heard.

Beloki and kloden maybe - remembering that both were cleared of allegations against them if we clutch at straws

German Anti-Doping org is requesting for legal details of the Freiburg case. They're very interested as the investigators found only proof of doping, not criminal actions. USADA is inspiring their peers. And USADA didn't even really go to the FEDs? Kloden is toast.

Actually all investigations in the Freiburg causa were put to end a few days ago without any results.

I dont read it like that.

I read, "we would never admit we were wrong, but we sure as hell we wont be selling anything in our stores with LieStrong it."

It is winding it down without admitting anything.

I see most sponsors following with similar. We have not been seeing his image in any ads for along time.

It's over.

+1
I'm not yet getting any satisfaction from this either.

Would be great if somebody (RR, are you there? :)) could give some hints as to whether or not we're going to hear more about UCI's role in the conspiracy and more generally how much of the evidence is or isn't going to come out in the open in the next coupla weeks.

Are there others who have a photo of Verdruggen in the bullseye of their dartsboard?

Haha the 2005 TdF

DSQ Lance Armstrong (USA)
2 Ivan Basso (ITA)
DSQ Jan Ullrich (GER)
4 Francisco Mancebo (ESP)
5 Alexandre Vinokourov (KAZ)
6 Levi Leipheimer (USA)
7 Michael Rasmussen (DEN)
8 Cadel Evans (AUS)
9 Floyd Landis (USA)

How many confirmed dopers in there? maybe evans will eventually get another tour win, for 2005..... or at least leipheimer
