I never thought I'd cheer for an Astana (thanks Cav). but Hirschi is too strong in the sprint.

Clément Champoussin sprinting like it's the world championships behind for a respectable 40 UCI points haul.
Lots of Chinastan UCI points behind!
The thing is they have the perfect team for these kind of races. Scaroni, Velasco, Champoussin, Ulissi (not here), so they will get a ton of points in Spanish and Italian hilly .1 and .Pro races, but they don't have the guys to actually get big results in most WT races. No good GC rider, no really good guy for the cobbled or hilly classics (or Bettiol needs to be great again) so it will still be almost impossible to stay in the WT.
That being said, fight for WCs won't even be interesting. Will be really easy for Chinastana and Tudor.
Bettiol is great again.
Was he disguised as Christen today?Bettiol is great again.
You didn't watch him race last year, I take it.Yeah very great in Down Under.
It's Bettiol, he will be good one race (I expect MSR) and then disappear.

What are you on about, no need to act arrogant. He was good in MSR and Flander, disappeared in the rest. Was literally complete *** again the 2nd part of the season. Bettiol has always been a hit or miss, mainly cause of his physical problems. No reason to think he's going to be consistent this year.
He was really good in the spring, and also consistent. His Ronde result also doesn't show the fact that he was very close to the podium with Teuns. Then he won the Italian nationals with a dominant ride.
He was very far from just having one good result as you said. But yes, his autumn wasn't good.
Interesting. We now have a top 7 + number 10, 11 and 14 on the PCS results.
The return of the (1.1) KING!
They got nothing on the actual (and unfortunately retired) king of small races. The 1.2 king Alois Kankovsky with his 21 1.2 wins! (And a great amount of 2.2 stages on top of that)Now that you ask, with the victory today, he got up to joint 4th place in the 1.1-win ranking among current pros; a list which is utterly dominated by people named Arnaud De something:
1: Arnaud Démare 15
1: Arnaud De Lie 15
3: Dylan Groenewegen 12
4: Marc Hirschi 9
4: Benoît Cosnefroy 9
4: Jasper Philipsen 9
4: Tim Merlier 9
4: Alexey Lutsenko 9
9: Diego Ulissi 8
