Have I just seen right? Dd Sky just manage to put together a decent lead out for EBH? Looked it to me. Farrar just too quick.

In my opinion, Farrar is clearly the second fastest sprinter around.

Average sprint from Griepel. Maybe the climbs took the strength out of his legs.

Can't believe people are creaming themselves over some guy who came 7th.

No. The final leadout man was too slow.

Greipel needs to have everything perfect I guess. Not a good quality for a sprinter.
Meh, just last week he came out of nowhere to win a Tour of Poland stage. Granted, not quite the same level, but he was awfully placed there as well.

under normal circumstances i don't think anyone would really care pal, it's to do with the wc numbers ;) I think the dutch posters are half kidding anyway, we know we have no chance :D

Still don't understand why Greipel didn't just take the race by the horns.

His team did a lot of work, but he was not very well placed in the last K it seemed.

he never does well in one-day races.

Maybe a bit slow, especially at the end of his stint, but all things considered I thought they got it about right. You just have to hand it to Farrar though, he was just the quickest sprinter on the day.

Seconded.
I'd normally not even pay attention to that. It's not great at all.
It has to do with the worlds ;)

And it makes the race less boring when you have somewhat of a 'game' to follow.
I'd probably only look at the results if it wasn't for this

I think Greipel isn't quite strong enough to win top 1 day races yet but (credit where credit's due) he's getting closer - finished nowhere in this last year

Wow, says it all. The Dutch WC squad the major talking point.

lol indeed. Depressing race as always. Not sure why I watched.
The worst part was that I watched it on the dutch tele with Mart Smeets who was equally as enthusiactic about this race as I was which made it even worse.
The man really wanted the race to be over. Besides that he was convinced it was Graeme Brown who finished 7th. Then when the race was over he wanted a top10 list from the director which took very long so he just repeated over and over he wanted that top 10 list. Maaan i'm allready grumpy today and this race with depressing commentator made it even worse:D

Let's not be picky here, at least they timed it correctly this time, which was a huge surprise. Sutton isn't exactly Renshaw, though.

Fair enough. As a Brit, it didn't matter where anyone finished, we'll only have 3 riders anyway.

Be optomistic, you never know what might happen on the day. The dutch could spring a surprise, especially as I fancy a fast classics type rider to win it.

Let's hope so. The dutch just don't have a rider atm who can win such a big race imo. Unless it's a mountain stage for Gesink. Anyways the chances for us are just a little bit bigger now that we have 9 :D

The minutes after the finish were one of the career highlights for Smeets. Dear God, what a miserable old fart this guy has become. And blind too.

i don't honestly know why anyone expects Griepel to challenge Cavendish..

he's just another average sprinter; there is a reason cavendish gets all the big races

More chipmunk than gorilla.

I backed Tyler to win because he has the natural speed, Hagen looking good for the Worlds.

I wish they could better use the territory around the area for that race. Run up the coast of Schleswig-Holstein and let the wind batter the riders, like the Amsterdam-Middelburg run in the Giro.

Come to think of it, maybe using the exact parcours of that Giro stage would make a good semi-classic...

There's the Delta Tour Zeeland, won the last two times by... Tyler Farrar.

Like how? He hasn't ridden enough monuments, he doesn't climb that well, and he was beaten in the sprint today. Greipel: if they can get a good team around him, then he can get to sprint against the top guys a lot, and possibly improve. And he's one of the best already. Farrar: really unlucky at the Tour, considering the other things he's been able to do this year. Has another date with Cav at La Vuelta- it could be a good 'un!

Yeah! Good one Laser-Man. 9 men to the Worlds and the Dutch have the 'prestige' of being ahead of the Republic of Vino and the Commonwealth of Schleck in the UCI Rankings when it matters most.:cool::cool:
