But it's in spanish:p

Meh.. most cycling fans should be able to read the basics, Inicio, Etapas, Equipos, Reglamento etc in at least four languages... Certainly French, Italian and Spanish

It's on the other side of the world, it's in january, it attracts famous riders....

The WT should start with this race, if they need to have globalization, not the TDU.

:(

Stage 3 will be a mix of 2011 stage 6 and 2011 stage 2 with Alto de Nogolí and Mirador del Potrero. It will be fun :p

Well, let's put it this way, you're, figuratively speaking, from the other side of the world compared to the traditional centre of cycling; Europe.

I'd wish they'd put some race(s) from Latin America in the WT, if they need to globalise it that much, at least there cycling is a big sport, from what I can tell. It would be cool if we saw some more European teams racing over there, like we see in this race.

it's ok ;)

and it's nothing against TDU, it would be great a WT race in Australia with some mountain/hilly stages.

Personally I don't think we should make South American races WT. They should be .HC or .1 rated so that the local Continental teams and national teams can take part, but with an incentive for the top teams to show up. San Luís strikes a good balance. I'd like to see a second race brought in to create an Argentine mini-season; maybe one around San Juan, Córdoba, Mendoza or Tucumán (or Bariloche :p)...

no it should not be a wt event and trust me san luis will never allow to become a wt event because it means only wt teams can enter.did you see the race last year?? how the urugyans and argentinean taught the first stage to all europeans how to ride wind echelons?? followed by the mountainstages in which the chilean team showed superb tactics and aggressivity to win the race. I remember reading in tutobici after the race how teams were completely in shock of the level of the riders there. that's what's so great about san luis. other than nibali not a european has won it yet

Well, to be honest I haven't seen this race before, and I see the points you and Libertine Seguros are making.

For now I'm just glad we'll see South Americans, Contador, Nibali, Rasmussen etc. face off. :)

can't wait to see what the portuguese boys can do against the real man from the pro tour circuit mostly cardoso and mestre. this race has the potential to be amazing. also imo they shouldn't make it world tour. this way at least the south american teams and some smaller pro conti and conti teams from europe can race it.

The CAS decision is expected from 15 to 20 January, so it isnt sure at all he's the winner.

And it would be a big race for the South Americans and an opportunity to show what they can do and if they're good enough, to get a contract in Europe. I agree, let's not make this race WT, the TDU can be WT.
