Schumacher will win the ITT. I hope Pozzato and Chavanel can win a stage each. Failing that Boonen.

I wonder if Contador will have good enough form to win??? The ITT will help him a lot so of course he will.

But who is in good form in january?

Maybe the southamericans, but none of WT riders. It's a matter if he want to waste or no energy. He told the press that he's gonna go easier this first races. I bet Nibali as winner, an italian in Argentina is a good combo.

And it would be a big race for the South Americans and an opportunity to show what they can do and if they're good enough, to get a contract in Europe. I agree, let's not make this race WT, the TDU can be WT.

contracts in europe is not what they want. they simply want to beat european teams and riders. last year arriagada and chilean team and also argentinean teams were in heaven for showing they were better than europeans it was big in the news, especially in chile. of course they were in better shape but still, incredible level. why trade being a star in your homecountry to becoming a helper in the wt for half the salary at most. they are not stupid

I would rather ride in higher caliber of races in Europe and test myself against better riders outside my comfort zone then beating up riders who are clearly better but won't leave because patriotism FTW.

I agree about them being in better shape since this is their racing season and a big goal for them so they would be better shape than the Europeans who are in their first race of the season. I also think of the South Americans as like the Japanese domestic World Super Bike and Moto GP riders when I used to watch it with my dad when a round was held in Japan and they would go out and beat the the foreign riders for that reason, to go out and show what they can do and to beat them. And beat them quite convincingly as well.

the only one sin better shape are from argentina, uruguay and chile though because their seasoin starts in november. the others, like colombians and brazilians are not in shape yet. and yes maybe you would do that but what's te point when you are 30 years old of going to europe for a bunch of unsecurity and there is no contador in those countrys. argentina, brazil, urguay etc don't have one rider taht stick out like in europe we have so there's enough competition there

Meh.. most cycling fans should be able to read the basics, Inicio, Etapas, Equipos, Reglamento etc in at least four languages... Certainly French, Italian and Spanish

Yeh right? I'm not gonna learn foreign languages because those countries like cycling. Allthough I speak a tiny bit of Spanish and French. My Italian, despite that I've been there twice last 3 years, is pretty awful.

incredible tea, although I doubt theyw ill be in early shape as this year tehy are certain of doing giro (they assume and so they should) so all focuss will be on giro. remember last year how serpa peaked in very early seaosn because savio was afraid rcn might not invite them

I don't think that's what TSF meant. You don't have to speak French for example, to recognise the word etape or equipe, as a cycling fan.

They put some of the teams online.

Is Amador meant to be Movistar's GC man? Only there's 19km of time trialling, ample for Arroyo to lose a couple of minutes, and too much climbing for Castroviejo. Unless Visconti's continued his climbing work?

Elia Viviani will win a stage.

How hard do the Euro riders ride this? Do they go all out for the GC win? Aim for one stage and ride for training? Do as well as they can staying under a threshold perhaps trying to win a stage or GC if it's there?
