So you would vote for him basically because he is a cyclist and because he has an interesting character not knowing what he or his party stand for?

Not only would I vote for him, I would campaign for him. I'd trust the cosmos that our interests (mine and Vino's) would be perfectly aligned! :D

imagine vino at the un assembly...fantastic to the core. :)

Reminds me of The Simpson's episode, "Simpson Tide" when it's revealed that the USSR never dissolved, lol...Vino would play the role of the Russian/Soviet ambassador to UN who appears at 16:35:

Anyone from Kazakhstan here who know what kind of political party he is running for? is he a communist? :D

The current ruling party. Kazachstan is not a democracy.

I'm not from Kazakhstan (though during the Vuelta a Chile I fought a Kazakh who would later be Vino's teammate) - but here's what Velonation said about the party:

"The 38 year old rider was today named as one of the candidates for parliamentary elections on January 15th. The ruling Nur Otan party announced the identities of 127 candidates today, with Vinokourov being part of a group of well known sportsmen, artists and singers. He and the hurdler Olga Shishigina plus the boxer Yermakhan Ibraimov were each nominated, the latter having won gold medals in the 2000 Olympic Games."

Oh the campaign slogans that could be written for Vino...

PS. I will definitely include the fight story in my book lol.

thats plain and simple awesomeness :D
speaking of food

During this Tour, in one of the "Inside the team" videos there was a short about team cooks. And they told Vino requires "Hercules" oatmeal delivered for him from Kazakhstan because they don't produce those in Europe.

It's not even all that tasty, it's a habit thing because back in soviet times "Hercules" was all they fed to sportsmen.
