Thanks, thewordsman.

You're welcome. It seems like he's spent the whole year either at the team training camp, where Contador said they did something like 1500 kilometers in ten days, or racing, or living and training with teammates at altitude in Tenerife. I'm anxious to see what he has at Trentino and LBL. It should be really interesting to watch Astana at the Giro with the Kazakhs and Italians. I've gotten kind of use to seeing those light blue jerseys at the front of races. :)

When will these braindead balloons realise that the reason Vino, Valverde, Ricco etc were able to achieve the so called feats for which they are lionised is that they were pumped full of pharmaceuticals?

If it looks too good to be true, It probably isn't!

He should have been banned for life to make way for someone clean in the peleton... still maybe some of the clean riders can make life unpleasant for him - he and his ilk are destroying the sport.

I think he should have got a life ban, for stupidity alone.
His performances in the 2007 tour were hysterical.

Please go make a Vinokourov thread in The Clinic if you want to post this rubbish...

Say what you will about Vino, but races will be much more exciting if he's back and on form. In the photos he looks good. I'm am keeping my fingers crossed that he will be allowed to ride the tour.

Completely unrated to AV, did anyone else take notice of so many teams training on Tenerife since Eufemiano Fuentes relocated his gynecological practice to the island?

His main practice was always on the island. It was never raided.

I hope Vino kicks some serious ass in the Ardennes and at the Giro. P-R was a bore. Hopefully Vino can create some excitement.

he didn't relocate at all. he's always been there but no one is stupid enough as far as riders go to still keep contact with fuentes.

The occasional reference to blatant doping issues with certain riders would pass by without much effect if people like you could prevent yourself from throwing hissy fits. That goes double for comments about rider's supposed allergies.

And people like you want to be able to say anything you want, anywhere you want, insult other posters and try to intimidate them away from expressing certain view points? I'm the only one in my family who doesn't have allergies. Lots and lots of people do, and Contador discusses his in the off-season when asked about his race schedule. The interviews are out there from years ago.

Back on the ignore list. Have a nice life. And I'm sure that other readers who don't like my thoughts that Contador is a clean rider who doesn't lie are already ignoring me. Feel free to do the same. But then you'll miss out on stuff like "Who do you trust? AKA Wheel Gate", because I came up with that. Oh well

I don't place a lot of value on the opinions of people who are so unsure of themselves and weak willed that they announce to the forum that they are stomping off in a huff because a few members don't agree with them, so I don't think I would be missing much. Grow a pair. Not everyone will agree with your opinion, but I guess you can pretend that they do by ignoring anyone who does not. Delusion must be a wonderful way to live life--well, until the inevitable time that reality intrudes.

Harden up Swordsman

Cycling is not a sport for wimps.

My 9 year old thought that by me buying him a high end bike he could keep up with us old farts.

He found out that cycling is work and pain. Harden up Swordsman.

We used to even ride on Brooks Professional saddles. How about that.

i find it interesting that vono's weight is currently mentioned at 71 kg whilst during his victorious vuelta it was 68.5 kg.

but looking at some pics, he's got hollow cheeks and gaunt appearance. dunno.

I have to agree - Vino does look slimmer and more gaunt than in previous years - but that could also come with a few years of aging as well. Stats would be interesting, and as mentioned in this thread, it will be interesting to see what happens in the next few races ...

It was not at his victorious vuelta his weight was 68.5, it was last years vuelta, the 09 edition ;)

He has always been built for the classics, but managed to become a good at almost any terrain over the years.

And he is on a diet to, maybe he is trying to loose some weight!

At breakfast - oatmeal in the water, with honey

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

Sasha, you're now sitting fees on a diet or can afford a lot, but in small quantities?

- Well, of course, diet. A professional can not afford to eat everything, except after the season.

It is clear that all fat-free, restriction of cereals are sweet. And there are some features, in fact, a diet of rigidity also varies? For example, Ekimov before RI was dried in this way - the proteins in their diet were different kinds of nuts, no meat, fish, and so for six months.

- I eat meat, alternating, one day - meat, the other - the fish, all lean, steamed with vegetables.

Describe your sample breakfast, lunch and dinner are now on Tenerife?

- In the morning - oatmeal porridge, protein, sugar in general no, a little honey and forth. As for dinner - we do not, immediately after exercise to recover sugar - a little bit of carbohydrates, bananas, a couple can eat and all. Dinner: if the next day - a great workout, then carbohydrates: pasta, rice and a piece of meat with greens. For dessert - fruit. If a short workout, then fish or meat with vegetables, preferably steamed.

So in the morning you eat cereal, but not pasta? What to charge the mess?

- Yes, every morning - oatmeal. Already the night is filled in with water, so it swells in the morning, and add a little honey in the morning, you can, add a banana. Protein is also desirable to dilute with water.

Porridge ... then on the water. From bread refused?

- Bread can be black.

And the fat and does not pull?

- It is not drawn, accustomed.

Where the power in such a lean diet, many ask this question?

- Lack of energy, there is protein in meat, there are carbohydrates in the pasta, buckwheat, rice, so we have enough.

Sasha, I read that in your diet as many fruits, vegetables, and how you feel about milk? For fat-free yogurt, kefir, yogurt?

- Milk, yogurt try to only eat soy, and cottage cheese with no problems.

And what about the cans of beer?

- A can of beer can, only after the bath-house course.

No, no, you can see in the pictures with Coca-Cola in his hand, somehow it is not associated with a healthy diet, which you adhere. Yet they know it is harmful product, that you say to that?

- As for Coke, it is necessary sometimes when you feel that the sugar falls, especially in the last hours of exercise or when you need to quickly restore the sugar after the race. Looking for something sweet - and the stake the most suitable in these cases. Again, we do not drink it liters.

- Yura Kulishkin: Live too bad, because you can die. Coca - is first and foremost, bystrousvoyaemy sugar for the racer, and we give coca riders during the race at feeding stations.

You can own something to cook in a hurry at the training camp?

- Muesli, milksheyk.

During the race the same food?

- You try to eat as possible, but, more carbohydrates.

- Yura Kulishkin: carbohydrates - is glucose and fructose, are involved in the process of saturation of the body energy, but without training - it's all fast becoming fat.

</span>You read the publications on sports nutrition, to follow the innovations in sports nutrition, do you have a doctor-consultant on nutrition and dietetics?

- I have already developed a power system, the publications do not watch, the doctor did not appeal. In that year, even fasted for 40 days, I liked it, but this year decided not to.

The guys at the photo noticed that you have bad drain or a visual effect from the sun?

- A little drain, of course, after such training.

* Weight Sasha is now 71 kg (height - 177), the Vuelta-09 was 68.5 kg.

</span>- What to do? It's my job.

Who pays for hotel accommodation and other expenses during the charge?

Valentin Iglinsky: Today passed 7 o'clock - 200km, worked in the mountains of the segments. We drove fast, not very tired. Weather: + 20-25 degrees. With us were the guys from Aqua Sapone and Sergei Ivanov. We are here: eat - sleep - train, so, every day! Going nowhere here, circle one of the mountain to the town 50 km. The drivers are now in Tenerife a lot, about twenty people. The hotel mainly live: riders, masseurs and trainers. The rooms are housed on two people. I live Gasparotto, Max with Wine. ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

Sasha, usually you go: The Basques, Amstel, Flash Vallon, LBL ... Why did you changed the program? What attracted you Trentino?

- Quite simply, the last time I went this way (the program) in 2005, after I had not participated in Baska - preparing for the tour. And this year I'm going to the Giro, that's changed the Classics on the Trentino and could not refuse from Liege. Today, drove 5 hours.

adili, but very weak. Today the weather was windy, sunny upstairs, downstairs cloudy. Max, of course, krasava! The main thing - attitude. He has learned to believe in themselves and took a step forward! By tomorrow we will arrive on Tenerife, to prepare for Amstel.

"I'm happy because I've shown my form is good. When I finally get home I'll do some recovery and then get ready for the Giro. Vino wants a strong team with him because he's targeting victory, so we're going to have to be ready to suffer."

so it's true, vino is going for the giro win.great news.
