Van Hummel  How slow did the peleton go over the climbs!
The climbs weren't hard. i mean the last climb was 4% average or so. Even van Hummel can handle that. It's not like he is the worst climber. People refer to that after that Tour, but fail to forget many sprinters already gave up when Van Hummel still finished those mt stages within the time limit

Van Hummel won the pelotonsprint. But Vac. never rode. Kinda dumb
The gap was too big to begin with. And if they rode harder on the climbs, chances are Van Hummel would have been dropped

But you're right, he's not such a bad climber as people think. The really bad climbers had already abandoned in that Tour. He rode entire Alps stages on his own, that's no small feat.

Well van Hummel said he improved a lot on his climbing in the winter and I think I believe him.

he obviously did, he did well at Tirreno (first two stages), last year he wouldn't even have made it over those long and hilly stages in the first group.

Hang on a minute, there's something wrong, here.
GreenEdge are having the season that BMC's bullion bought and paid for,
while BMC are having the season that GreenEdge bought in the bargain basement sale!:p:D

Pate and Rogers were sick and did not start. Sky line up is very thin now. With Flecha broken finger/arm and Dowsett and Barry with broken elbows. Add track riders and Knees injured.

It's not going to be best Classics for them imo.

Besides that he lost weight since that Tour and is much more capable of getting over climbs then he used to.

van Hummel in that Tour was just really bad climber. Loved his determination though.

Great ride from Albasini. Excellent signing from Greenedge, I'm sure he'll bring home a few more victories this season.

You can count on Albasini to bring in a few wins during the seasons.

Yup, GreenEdge's mixture of the overhyped and underappreciated rag-tag bunch has really gelled well, while BMC have suffered the usual problem of Too Many Chiefs.
