Advantage out to 4' 30" and through the first of the two intermediate sprints already.
The peloton looks up for it today. The break is being reeled back in. The advantage was up to 7'30" and now down to 2'46". Only 65 kms rode.

Peloton = Greenedge, probably. Rather weak break, easy to control for the (adopted) Aussies.

It looks like there are echelons:

Aparece el viento de costado y el pelotón se rompe en varios abanicos. Escasas diferencias entre los grupos.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted:

Kilómetro 85. El pelotón se reagrupa, salvo 15 corredores.

Guess I'll go and rewatch the GE backstage pass from Milan-San Remo then for abouth the 100th time. That video just doesn't get old.

The wind is still very strong, so there could be more echelons in the future:

Kilómetro 93. El viento es muy fuerte. Caída de Nieve (Euskaltel-Euskadi) y Dumoulin (Cofidis) afortunadamente sin consecuencias.

Cineteq, yesterday you could turn up a huge screen into a little one with the better watch ability. Could you help one more time? :)

Eurosport announcers just made the point that Leipheimer is based nearby, as well as Garmin, and they may be going for it for pride
Ehm... there are many many many more professionals who are based around Girona. Gesink, Kruijswijk, some Spaniards from Rabo, Van Winden, etc are also based around there.

So I think almost half the field here knows these roads very well

Omega Pharma-Quick Step hammering on the front: did Valverde have another mechanical? After all, they owe him one.

I think it's the 3rd oldest stage race. That's why monuments aren't listed there.

Assuming he meant stage races.. Hasn't Volta a Portugal been around longer?
