thanks for creating the race thread, i was going to do it myself as i thought no1 else would. and where did you get that nice looking profile for the stage? the ones on the race site are awful

anyway i am going with manuel cardoso for the win, the field is pretty weak with only a handful of second tier sprinters and caja could really use a nice win to get their year going

Sorry for being a noob, but what's the difference between the green and the grey cross-section for the mountain profile?

The grey is where the categorised climb begins.

(If you look at the time sheets it gives actual length/gradient).

If not all hell breaks loose, it could be for Meersman/Nocentini

How is the weather in Catalunya, considering the snow in MSR?

Nice parcours. Can see someone taking the stage win á la Albasini did last year.

Who's going to be Garmin's main man for this race?

I like both Martin and Hesjedal hope they both do well here.

On a profile like this what are Andy Fenn's chances like?

I really like his chances given he's probably the fastest there with the exception of Guardini. The final climb isn't too hard at all (false flat run in to a couple of kilometres at 6'ish%), but maybe the earlier ones will weaken the legs a little too much.

Think it really depends on the pace being set on that earlier one but looking at the start list and profile Fenn's name popped out a bit.

Allan Davis will win this won't he?
Allan Davis? Win? Yeah, well, maybe.

The final isn't too hard, Kenny van Hummel was able to contest the peloton sprint last year. So maybe Guardini could survive.
