Maybe he is at the front so Visma doesn't chase?
Although with most of the big teams having a rider ahead, there's not many teams left to chase.
Visma will probably still want it to come back together for Vingegaard, but they should be very happy if Red Bull doesn‘t call their bluff.

Lefevere's always going to be Lefevere'ing, but I reckon he may well be right this time (assuming there isn't a change back to a few properly long ITT's in the Tour.)
You put long TTs and the best he can get is still a 3rd position. And I'm not even looking to riders who will probably improve significantly in the next 2 years (e.g. Seixas, Del Toro).

The old man is right. Evenepoel is skipping too many big classes. He's a one day racer at heart.

As for today, great news that this stage was only slightly shortened. Its queen stage status is preserved. The final climb is still a substantial challenge and should produce interesting action.
