Who are the people in the know? Haven't heard anything from them. Jonas is a ocean better than the rest not named Pogacar, but he will have a Giro in his legs. It's one thing Pogi managed to win both the Giro and the Tour.
Media and ex-riders were in the midst of writing his obitual.
trainer leaving, desire to be home, ...

I expect Jonas to win the Giro on reserve like Tadej did. So there is a chance it won't blow up in his face and will work just like it worked for Tadej and Jonas will be in his best form for the Tour. beating Tadej is something else. But imo there is a higher chance for Jonas to arrive at the Tour in his best form, than for him to 'crumble' cause of Giro.

But who's George Bennett gonna be?

Easiest solution would be Sam Bennet, but I am sure you can do a larger ring of transformations. In fact: if this is indeed the case, we can't say if Sam Bennet, as George Bennet has not already won a mountain stage, and George Bennet as Sam Bennet a sprint. I guess the transformation is easier when you have a name or two in common. But they could, in theory, include Vingegaard who could be Sam Bennet while George Bennet is Vingegaard. This could also explain various strange changes in form.

Nah, the double gets overrated a bit. Armstrong, Contador and Froome could do it with the right conditions.
An easy Giro, will probably have next to no impact on Vingegaard.

Remco tried multiple times but couldn't get ride of Vingegaard (as I expected) and a few other guys. Maybe he started expanding energy too many hills before the line. Congrats to Vingo on the overall victory, making it 5/7 in terms of big one-week races won.
