Very good race from Dan Martin, seems to be settling good in his new team. Valverde faded a bit unexpectedly, was really expectation him to contest today. Just not his day, but I think his form is still there.

And it's February. The kid was exceptional in Vuelta, no reason why he can't challenge Bernal.

I wouldn't pull too many conclusions out of today's results.
The goods were good and the bads were bad, just that.
This early in the season form is pretty fickle.

People need to stop minimizing the things these youngsters do just because the top 10 gc riders aren't participating. You can only beat whoever you face in a race.

Very true. And Pogacar didn't need a bigger margin. He knew that if he wins the stage he wins the whole race. Why win by a minute margin? We can't be sure this was his maximum. He would be crazy to show that he is even stronger.

Pogacar looking very good. He has the all-around talent to contend for grand tour podiums. No weaknesses--strong climber, and strong time-trial rider.
