My issue with the ttt in this context isn't just that it favours wealth but that doing it in a 2.pro with little racing terrain immediately detonates the chances of anyone without the depth to send a proper team. If this was the Dauphine or Paris-Nice then everyone can send their best guys and the damage might be limited.

I was looking forward to seeing how Joseph Blackmore and Piganzoli have progressed and seeing what they can do against some of the big guys here, looking at their teams they don't have a hope in hell after 1 stage. Hopefully they underestimate Blackmore's uphill sprint and he can get something going on stage 3.

It is the worst stage designed ever in the history of the sport. It's insulting.

A great and historic stage race decided on the opening day by a Mickey mouse budget test. Wasteful. Disappointing.

I encourage all forum users to join me in a boycott and not watch this stage tomorrow. We can take a stand.

Maybe there is something we can trend in social media, #boycottvoltavalenciastageone .

There should be some great racing at bessegss

Reminder to everyone that today is the forum boycott of the Volta Valenciana, we will not be watching today's 'stage' 1 in protest of the inclusion of an utterly ridiculous TTT that renders the rest of the race a waste of time.

Pleas ejoin me in protecting our beloved sport and standing up for what is right

I am away on a spa retreat so I shall do this sacrifice for and with you.

Obviously I'm not watching because of the forum-wide boycott

How are those new aero-bikes looking for UAE lads? The ones you lot haven't shut up about for 4 months that were meant to save 20 watts that I said was a marketing gimmick?

Just wondering because I expect them to put at least a minute into Lidl-Trek who have brought a ragtag band of leadout guys for Milan.

And at least 2 into Ineos, who are 'a complete shambles'.

At T1 they are 36s behind Lidl-Trek
