Volta Ciclista a Catalunya 2024 (March 18-24)

I thought I'd tune in to the Volta for some lovely, sunny, armchair tourism of one of my favourite parts of the world.

Isnt it usually kind wet/cold in this race? I only remember the last stage into Barca in low altitude as a warm affair

Pogacar will make Kuss and Landa look like Froome since 2019.

I wrote yesterday that and didnt post it, dont know why...The rain is good for Pogacar, not bad for Landa...this is a goodf climb, but is the only big climb of the day, first mountain stage of the race, so, yes, I think Pogacar is the favourite today, but he is not a pure climber, and you say he will win Cataluña easy...I dont think so.
But one thing is true..if a pure climber is leader the last day and Pogacar is close at GC, Pogacar will win. I think Pogacar, who is a rider I love, (I think is difficult not to love him as rider) will win this race, but not for sure and no so easy....if a group of 10 riders get today the last Km, he will put 3 or 4 seconds today to the second, at least. But it depends as well how the race unfolder, if there are climber with nothing to lose who attack from far. There is a hard part where most of domestiques will dissapear. more wiyh this weather.
