Bertie could get full benefits of peloton protection 6 or 7 back. To drop right back to Purito is 100% mind games.

Actually I think it's a really good tactic. I mean Saxo drops the peloton, then if Contador attacks, then there is all of his teammates.


In the meantime he seems like he want to go up.

So Contador goes back, so that he is with the favorites but his teammates can go up the road easy and katusha too far back wont react. Now when they do get to cuitu contador has his train up the road waiting for him.
