Spanish (And French) ticker updates are updating a few minutes ahead of the English on the Vuelta website for whatever reason.

Because they can't speak English to save their lives. :p

If they ride like this and still haven´t let anybody go, then we likely gonna have some fireworks early in the stage. Somebody got a plan A today.
An AC plan perhaps?

There is a long distance between San Lorenzo and Cobertoria. Time to sleep for "the peloton". The escapees open more gap, more than 5 minutes.

Can you guys not see Froome is going to shake the cycling world with a legendary solo effort that will bag him the Vuelta?

I'd be very disappointed if he doesn't go all out on Cobertoria at the latest.

I want Froomey to go for the Landis so badly. Don't even mind if he doesn't make, as long he gets enough of a gap for some suspense. Hopefully Conti, JRod and Valv's domestiques can't reel him in fast enough so they have to decide to go it alone early in pursuit

Don´t think so, somebody got other plans.

They had other plans on the Stelvio too I'm sure

Well, let's just say, if they want to be sure to get De Gendt back, they'll have to start chasing early. If Purito or Contador want to win, they shouldn't give de Gendt too much time

EDIT

Thomas DE GENDT (211) y Dario CATALDO (142) aumentan su ventaja a 6:48.

spanish ticker says

La calma aparece en un pelotón que ya está a 5:30 de los dos escapados.

So? Contador wants to win a stage and sky prob aswell so no way he'll win besides saxo needs to make the race hard.

de gendt will take it....it always happens like that when they ride full gas 60 km and after they stop...
only if they will go hard on san lorenzo but i doubt it

Except for one minor detail, De Gednt was from striking distance of Giro podium. ;) No breakaway win today.

Lead going out rapidly. Looks like the other guys have remembered the Stelvio stage and already given up hope of chasing down De Gendt
