If it was anyone other than Contador not really no. But this is Contador we're talking about. ;)

A snake might be dangerous, but a snake driven into a corner with only one way out is much more dangerous. ;)
But snakes dont have legs. And neither does Contador... not the legs he needs.

I thought you said it suits purito more? lol

But we need to keep hoping, it's alberto, he just needs that one superday. I'm not hoping for a weak day of purito.

That's not what make champions great, it's about him. He needs to get that Etna/Verbier day and if he has that today, the gapes will be big.

That's the spirit!

Actually I don't see why is the "because of the last 3 km it suits more to Purito" thinking? It's suits more to Purito whem he is with the others. But what if Contador can go off before that, and no one will ride a tempo for Purito. As we have seen, he is able to do his ultimate 1 km sprints, when there is someone in front of him. Gradients means nothing.

This stage will come down to the last 3km where it will suit Purito once again

With 3 km to go we know how it will end, if it was the last MTF Bertie would have no other choice than to attack earlier.

at about 12+% due to no draft, set tempo doesnt mean that much and loneliness if one is dropped has only psychological sense. one keeps the pace on or not. very simple.

Its a really long climb. Longest yet. Maybe that will wear out Purito, though the steep last 3 km should suit him

Go back a year in time and one would have to shake its head hearing somebody saying a 20 km climb with particulary steep gradients the last 3 km or so "suits Purito" over Contador. But that is this bizarre situation we are in.

valvede. who did you think about? ;)
Given that his name is Alejandro I found Alex to be a weird nickname (unless it's a joke aimed towards all the useless commentators out there who call him Alexandro Valverde...)

Purito needs to race smarter than yesterday and then finish Contador off like Rasmussen did on the Aubisque.

I'm afraid Purito is not that much stronger as Chicken was. Who knows, though, probably he got confidence gradually during the previous stages and really able to make a move.

I still don't think Purito is the favorite today. Yes, Contador wasn't able to drop him, but Purito had to respond to a million attack, he must feel those in his legs, and 20 km is just 20 km, especially if Saxo, or any other team except Katusha will ride a hard pace on the penultimate climb at least.

Found it odd that Rodriguez said he was close to cracking yesterday in the CN interview. Bluff?

Just wondering. Seems like a weird thing to admit to for a GT contender. It's always more to the tune of hunger-knock/dehydration/cramps etc, rather than admitting vulnerabilities. For obvious reasons ofc.
