Itv went full *** and said Contador and Valverde beat Rodriguez because they were doping.

Idiots, Contador's performance wasn't so amazingly great that it's not possible without doping.

But you better get used to it cause we'll get more of that when Contador rides tour'13 lol

Ye actually Berti says that the reason he took the risk and attackd from afar was infact that he is not in his best shape

I like reading how all the cognoscenti of this board who speak in all-knowing tones really get it wrong about what's about to happen and how the Vuelta was over and they just keep on pontificating. Fun stuff to watch and read.

Ultimately, none of us knows what tomorrow will bring and no one reallyknow much more than anyone else.

I like reading it as well, so certain yet its only based on what's on the TV or their hearts, not saying its wrong but is the entertainment on the forum.

Anything can happen and does, sure some guess correctly and then think they are the next Karnak the magnificent :D, then 20 posts down someone else pops up and self quotes themselves from a unrelated thread on how they knew from yet another guess they made.

Jan Bakelandts:
“My deepest respect for what Contador did today. Racing often boils down to what happens in a small block of five minutes. Teams can protect a rider until a point where he just has to put in a brief effort close to the finish. Today we saw a different type of race. Contador had so much endurance. He was able to ride at his threshold for a very long time. Rodriguez couldn’t match that.”

Joaquin Rodriguez:
“I felt in a good shape but today Saxo Bank, especially Contador, did a great performance. Alberto proved once again to be a great champion. Obviously I’m disappointed right now, but that’s cycling: you need to accept both victories and losses. Anyways, Vuelta has not finished yet: I will do my best to try to win in Bola de Mundo, trying to gain as many seconds as possible before Madrid”.

Bauke Mollema:
"At the base of the climb you could see it happening. Three guys from Saxo Bank rode to the front. Then I thought ‘Contador has to be on his way’. And there he was. He only had one teammate left at the top, but on the descent and on the false flat he and Paulinho rode full throttle at the head of the race."

David Millar:
"OMG this is old school, and I mean good old school, not bad old school. I said it once, I'm going to say it twice, @albertocontador is one hell of a bike racer."

Michael Morkov:
"Grande @albertocontador"

Jesus Hernandez:

Animo chaval eres mu grande tb!"

Who on ITV said that?

They said that lots of fans won't like.this and that we have to "take a step.back" and wonder how the 2 riders coming back from.suspension beat the one contender who has not been suspended. The presenter said it and hammond agreed with his usual - yeah, that's the thing...

I have watched it twice this evening, pure class by Bertie, SBTB and Tira :D

I recorded it (thank you 21st century - yes I know there was video tape before, but it wasn't able to record after), and I watch it now. So good to see, still hard to believe and now they show Tira, and he is really intent.

another boring mountain top finish no doubt... break wins... purito and contador stay together..

sigh..

never thought i'd be sick of mtf's

This is funny :D

Not mocking Pharazon at all, I just think it's a funny turnaround that so many people felt like this before this stage and now....well....you know the rest :)

Gary Imlach was the presenter. Roger Hammond the ex-pro analyst that took it up saying it (Contador's win) will leave a lot of people with a sick feeling etc but you have to take the the win at face value or words tot hat effect.

See? It's all the power-meter's fault.

"and roger when you are watching a race as exciting and dramatic as this the last thing you want to do is step back and start questioning the whole thing especially when so.much of today was perhaps tactical as it was physical But here you've got 2 riders coming back from doping bans riding away from the one rider in contention who isn't so there are going to be people at home applauding that with less than full.volume at the sight of that no matter how much panache it was done with"
