It makes the race more fun I think. I would rather see the same 5 riders vying for a win on a MTF than the same 5 riders going for a flat stage finish. However I do think that the Vuelta should have more climbs/stage to give breakaways better chances.

Vilagarcía, Oct 25 (EFE). - The second stage of the Tour of Spain 2013 will end in Vilagarcía, as confirmed today the mayor of Pontevedra, Thomas Fole.

Vilagarcía, 25 oct (EFE).- La segunda etapa de la Vuelta a España 2013 finalizará en Vilagarcía, según ha confirmado hoy el alcalde del municipio pontevedrés, Tomás Fole.
La etapa prólogo de la ronda española, el 24 de agosto, saldrá desde Vilanova y tendrá la meta ubicada en O Grove, posiblemente en el istmo de A Lanzada.
Un día después, el pelotón se dirigirá hacia Vilagarcía, aunque aún está pendiente de cerrar el punto exacto en el que estará ubicada la meta.
Fole ha recordado que el pasado mes de agosto, una etapa de la Vuelta salió desde Vilagarcía y supuso "un enorme éxito", y ha pronosticado que el año que viene "será aún más espectacular".
Gustavo César Veloso, que corrió la última edición de la Vuelta con el Andalucía, ha recalcado que una llegada es "mucho más espectacular" que una salida, y ha sugerido como alternativas para ubicar la línea de meta los montes de Xiabre y Lobeira.

Una rueda de prensa, en la que el presidente de la Diputación Rafael Louzán estuvo acompañado por Tomás Fole y todos sus concejales, hizo oficial este mediodía que Vilagarcía será el punto final de la segunda etapa de la Vuelta Ciclista a España 2013. Ocurrirá el día 25 de agosto, un domingo, y la línea de llegada estará situada en las inmediaciones del Monte Lobeira. La ronda entrará en la localidad arousana por Carril y recorrerá toda la fachada marítima hasta llegar a Vilaxoán. A partir de ahí, el pelotón se encaminará hacia Cornazo para afrontar los 1.600 metros de ascensión hacia Lobeira, donde estará situada la meta. Louzán apuntó que todavía no estaba decidida la localidad desde la que partirá la carrera ese día pero sí que está claro que será una etapa con un kilometraje importante.

Veremos si antes del final incluyen la subida al monte Xiabre que también había sonado en un principio como posible final de etapa.
