Thanks. The Andorra thing is quite depressing.
Let's hope we get at least one mountain stage.

So it seems the stage before Angliru will finish on top Monte Naranco. 1990s revival. Unipublic have already made clear the stage will be soft.

It seems I was too optimistic when I said we'd get 11 MTFs. It looks more like it's going to be 12 or even 13.

I fear I was too soft when I rated last year's route with the worst possible mark.

Make sure you make the poll yourself next time and make sure a 0 is an option

The only hopes are the stage of Granada ( if it goes with Purche and Dornajo),Rabassa before Canolich, a Pyrenean stage in ¿ France??, and perhaps a medium mountain stage in Cantabria before Naranco, but I am not optimistic at all.

The appearance of the route is the worst since 2007

I wish the Angliru stage could include the same climbs Cycling Magazine "Ciclismo A Fondo" (the first press which talked about Angliru) showed us on that first article about this big mountain. It was a big tribute to Angliru.

A mouintain stage with:

Cabruñana (Third Category)
San Lorenzo (Special Category)
Cobertoria (First Category)
Cordal (First Category)
Angliru (Special Category)

It would be the hardest stage of Vuelta history, I think.

Yeah but no one is going to do anything until Angliru. Unless a team with 2 leaders decides to send 1 up the road (Uran Henao)

Don´t worry the stage is from Avilés to Angliru , the last stage, riders will de very tired, and they don´t have to think, just repeating the stage of 2011,

What is the point of clogging the last stage with climbs when 1) it is the last stage and 2) the finish is atop the country's hardest climb, meaning everybody will wait till the end?

It's part of the great Unipublic conspiracy.
This way, when the riders will wait for the final climb to attack, Unipublic will say something like: "You see? Multiple climbs stages make riders wait for the final climb!" ;)

Watch out, your wishes might end up being granted...

As reports the last pyrenean stage will feature the Port de la Bonaigua.

So although we could get something like this:

la-seu-superbagneres-volta.png

They might also go west and finish in Cerler...

Although my money is on a finish on Pla de Beret, with Cantó + Bonaigua + Pla de Beret:

One of my last hopes is that stage to Superbagneres.

Another good posibility is a stage ending in Pla de Adet after Bonaigua, Portillon,Peyresourde, Azet, Pla de Adet

Bonaigua, portillon, Peyresourde, Azet, Piu Engaly would be a great stage too, and a good memory for Escartin win in 1999.

I think that ASO wants to give both the Vuelta and Tour a specific character. Vuelta, lopsided with climbs. Tour, lopsided with bunch sprints.

According to reports Mirador of Ezaro, Collado de Gallina and Fuente De are all set to repeat:(

We may have to wait until Purito and Valverde end their careers for Unipublic to have a different approach.

Honestly, I begin to stop keepin the pace with you.
When Giro had 8 mtf was the best. When Tour had 2 1/2 was the worst. From this I deduce you all love mountain stages. Tour is always bad because it has a lot of plain stages. So, 11 is too much fun? Like too much cake?
Or this is the confirmation of the fact that some of you will never be happy with any route? You know 2 years ago when everybody screamed and yelled Grand Colombier? And when it came.....wow, worst route ever. I know it was 40 km to the finish, but it was there. That would not have been a problem for a rider who actually wanted to won the Tour/or the stage. Look at the stages in 50s, 60s, 70s. Please count the MTF in those years. I happen to have a magazine with mountains of the Tour, and for example, in Pyrenees, from 1950, it's less than 1MTF/Tour if you do the math. And Tours from 95 to present got that percent up.
Or is it that they don't do multiple climbs stages? It's Spain. I know on mapmyride.com you can make great stages. But, did you checked the quality of the road? Just saying.

yes to both the questions.
It's Spain, not Denmark. There are climbs there.
