It was probably just a mix up with Kelderman's race number (61) and Courteille's (161).

Quickstep finally having a day off.

I think they will start chasing. With Jungels, Alaphilippe and Trentin, they have 3 fast riders that they can use depending on how things go on that last hill.

Seems silly to me. Alaphilippe, Lampaert, Terpstra and Trentin had very serious chances of victory in the break. I don't know if they missed it (it doesn't seem hard to integrate a 13-riders group) or if it was a team order not to get in it.

Another glorious stage design.

Long up&down day with a twist made in the end.

Looking back on the first week this has been excellent!

So far, this Vuelta has been 100 times as interesting as this july group ride.

Nice route, nice racing.

Never thought I would say it - we need to be fair to the July group ride - there are not blessed by the terrain as Spain or Italy.

Okay, much better than the July group ride!

Hell yeah. TDF is, by far, the most disappointing of 3 GTs. Its not even close. So far, this Vuelta has been excellent on all kind of terrains.

you can of course start somewhere let's say in the Alsace and have Planche des belles filles on the third day or so... and then go down for the Alpes....

or start in the southeast or southwest and head in to the Alpes or Pyrenées rather soon and then up to Dordogne for instance...

In theory they could do a spiral. start in middle - start in centre - challenges in vosges or MC a few flatt/ITT/cobbles stages/ Pyrenees, coast/alps. BOOM

Spanish TV showed a video of multiple crash between many cyclist when the stage hadn't begun yet. The neutralised departure.

¡¡¡¡¡Echellons!!!!, right now.

I haven't seen the peloton once since I tuned in

Oh here they are. The pace doesn't seem to be very high?

All seems calm now. Several tweets from 10 minutes ago saying Sky were splitting the bunch in the wind. Now the official Vuelta twitter saying all back together, as we can see.

Damn. Kudus probably will abandon.

And Flecha looked smooth as hell on those cobbles, like he never retired.
