Great to see Nibali result.

I'm not sure how to understand this.

Are you happy that his breaking his back in the Tour prevents him from going well in the Vuelta because he has never been at Sky, or are you happy that he didn't do too badly considering his breaking his back in the Tour and suddenly showing a bit of compassion for someone never associated with Sky?
I completely changed my attitude to Nibali since July'2018, the same with Dumo. Both of them comitted some silly remarks about Froome's WADA/UCI decision, one of them thought he had won Giro, another one - Vuelta.
That's why I hope Nibali will be nowhere during this Vuelta and WCRR.

Wow. They had some good critics on the way his case was handled by the authorities and raised some justified questions.
You make a conclusion based on what you think, not on what they said. Dont make things up and write it down as if its true.

It didn't matter anyway!
His result was awful.

Before the start, the gambling bookkeepers were giving odds for Stage 1 TT as Dennis 1/3, Kwiatkowski 4/1, Campenaerts 6/1, as the top three favorites... and that is exactly what happened. The whole Stage 1 podium was the consensus favorites, and in the correct order

Yeah that's the most predictable stage over with.........

Nibali will win 2 more big races this year and the velon d'or
It's been an odd season for Nibali. He's had his biggest one-day win, but otherwise done basically nothing. By PCS's estimation, his next best result is 11th in the GC at Tirreno-Adriatico.

If he won the Vuelta/Lombardia and WCRR, I guess he could be in the running for Velo d'Or, but even then...

Normally the Tour winner gets it if nobody else has a really amazing season. No classics rider or sprinter has had a really standout season, and the Worlds are very likely going to a GC rider, although the top GC riders so far this season have done Giro/Tour and are unlikely to get other major results in the year

Right now, I think Froome would take it over Thomas, unless Thomas wins the WC.

I think Dumoulin might be in the running if defends his rainbow jersey, if he wins the road race he flat out takes it.

Nibali probably needs to win the Vuelta or the WRR. If he wins all 3 it's roflmao no question plez take my money and the Velo d'or
