Nibali obviously has decent form now, why isn't he saving himself to better help Ion Izagirre in the coming days? Selfish ****!

He is building a form and there is no decent form to save. He was worth piece of *** to Ion in the form he started this race. This stage is probably part of the plan to get decent again and it is not like Ion needs supreme mountain dom today, or yeasterday in that matter. If Nibs indeed is getting his form back, he is much more valuable in stages to come. I'm only willing to judge if he starts to attack and drop the team leader in real mountains.

Nibali is a champion, he has earned the right to pursue his own goals. And if that is building up his form to maybe win the rainbow jersey in the only chance he has left in his career, so be it.

He could still build his form whilst helping Ion. There's probably an element of disharmony in the team, hence why the Izagirre bros are leaving (or due to the fact they're leaving).

The Izagirre bros didnt exactly work for Nibali at the Tour ...they were off in breakaways if you recall on days I thought they should have ridden with Nibali.....This part of why they are leaving I think

I thought Bora will be riding for Sagan today. This was his last chance to win a stage at Vuelta. If they think that Formolo in 18 man break is better option... They will not ride the peloton anyway next stages.

Yeah, at least he could have gone in the break himself if they didn't want a day of chasing.

Well that is another option. Formolo could help him

Yes, "Faro" means lighthouse.
And according to the video in the second page of this thread they won't get to the top. They just stop shortly before the "faro".
Just looked at the Google Earth... narrow road to the finish, it appears. And Faro isn't that high, anyway.
Actually, the road is slightly downhill. I guess the finish line will be before the turn to the right, so they have a way out without riding back as riders keep coming on that narrow road.

No interest from Quikstep? Vivianni wins this if its a bunch sprint!

I cant see a buch sprint with those climbs at the end.

Finally Movistar work, but it is not enough.

Not enough for what? Movi will cut the deficit to 7-8 min on Herrada, let him wear the red for stage or two, use his team during that time to ride at the front, and try to grab the jersey on Covadonga.

Not enough to 8 minutes just with Anacona. some team has try to puss to get time at the end, and with that maybe 8 minutes is possible.
