Thanks - I just had a quick look at your alternative route too. It's really ridiculous what has been done to the race in order to attract teams which aren't even good enough to compete (excepting UtensilNord).

ans minas is here:

Fabio Duarte failed again. His lack of consistency is amazing. Atapuma is a lot more consistent as expected. He has proven this several times in the past. If it wasn't for his bad TT ability he could contend for races.

Atapuma has had bad luck in this race already lost time on thursdays stage with a mechanic and yesterday he had 4 mechanics. Else he would have been quite a bit higher in GC aswell.

1 Félix ‘El Gato’ Cárdenas (GW Shimano), 4 horas 36 minutos 26 segundos,
2. Darwin Atapuma (Colombia-Coldeportes), a 4 segundos.
3. Alex Cano (Aguardiente Antioqueña-Lotería de Medellín) a 8 segundos,
4. Flober Peña (Nectar de Cundinamarca) a 9 segundos,
5. Iván Parra (Epm-Une) a 12 segundos

duarte killed it on minas, acted like a champ
i'm not worried about his form when he will come back in europe.

Good effort by Duarte after yesterday. Still, it's odd how often this happens to him.

Overall... 4 of the top 5 on GC aged 38-40. Kind of a shame considering how many talented young riders are in the race.

So what did Duarte do today?
He attacked on Alto de Minas, went over the top wih about 40 seconds and hung on until about 10 km to go (bear in mind the climb was followed by a descent and then around 20 km of flat).

Teams MIA/POW

Great budget teams (By south american standards at least) have not shown anything at all so far.....Movistar Development team, except for Byron's stage win.....But Colombia ColDeportes, EPM-UNE,....have so far been very quiet...Another thing that called my attention is the very limited int'l field:D
