To me, it looks like this Vuelta is finished.
Not just because Contador is in charge, but more because of the way he's got in charge. The only one who was supposed to challenge him in the mountains is far behind and the tactical advantage Movistar should have had means nothing now.
Weak Tinkoff team won't be a problem. There's simply no one near to Contador's level.

Fewer massive climbs means this is more likely to be a close race. That should at least be entertaining.

What? In what world does less racing = More entertainment?

With Uran Uran meltdown and the unfortunate events that led to Gesink's abandon it looks like that Nieve is cruising to another 10th/11th GT place.

What is more likely? Dan Martin crashing? Dawg pacing him to an Ancares win? Caruso and Navarro dropping like stones?

It is a pity that Nieve wanst more strong at the end of La Vuelta. that has allow contador to keep the wheel of Froome in his attacks, but Contador has been really strong and he deserve as well to win.

Nieve unfortunately didn't get into 10th place but guess what?

Monfort is really an improvement to Cisse De Greef in Lotto and finished in the 16th place. Since the 2012 Tour he finished all his GTs between the 14th and the 16th place. It's also his third 16th place in a Grand Tour following the 2012 Giro, the 2012 Tour and the 2014 Vuelta.

I don't have data for this, but maybe he is the first in this century to do a 16th place in all GTs? :D
