Haha what the hell was that.

Try explain that to someone who doesn't regularly follow cycling.
Strongest guy got to the line first. Last 60km were raced hard. The riders who attacked early on paid later, Craddock less so than Izagirre and Aranburu. Strong move at the right time. The others tried hard but were too exhausted to catch Iturria even in the final when they were very close. Normal result I think.

So the witch-hunt failed... A nice victory on home turf for Iturria and his team.
Pulled the move at the right place and had enough to hold on. Once they closed to single-digit seconds and failed to catch him, discord in the group was inevitable.
Congrats.

The others tried hard? In the final 15km the chasing group literally didn't collaborate for longer than 30 seconds without someone skipping turns, staring at each other etc.

If they did, they would have caught Iturria whenever they wanted. Obviously it's common dynamics in cycling for a chasing group to not work together optimally but this was quite a baffling example of stubbornness. Interesting to watch nevertheless, but probably difficult to understand for someone who doesn't watch cycling very often.
