Never underestiminate the power of wearing the leader's jersey or even being high up in the GC.I wouldn't matter if Higuita takes the lead. He doesn't have a team to control. And he has lost time consistently in the MTF ( Javalambre y Mas de Costa account for more than 6 minutes together).
That looks magnificently pointless: very few people there, so minimal publicity value, and had it rained heavily before it would have done the pitch no good.

I can't help but to think that it's a bit of an anticlimax if the GC riders aren't fighting for the stage win.Not really. Only if they wanted the stage.
